Fuel Pump Diaphragm Rupture Hose Type?

Its tygon tubing... If you're lucky you can find it locally, but I found none of my local hardware or auto parts stores had tygon tubing that big... its usually used on small engines... I ordered mine online.

    HGE Dry Joint Exhaust Manifolds

you're PROBABLY fine, but you might want to take out the plugs and reseal them with teflon tape or pipe dope or your favorite concoction of sealant.... I'd be nervous that the heat from grinding them that much might have burned up any tape or loctite or whatever was on them...

    Shift shaft bushings

Hmmm... Maybe its a gen 2 thing?? Every video I can find on youtube shows play in the lower bushing... Its not something that moves a ton so I really can't see it wearing that excessively, but it just seems weird to be that loose by design...

Alpha One Gen 1 transom assembly seal

also, there is a seam in the gasket where they weld the two ends together... Its good practice to locate that at 12 o'clock. That part of the drive is typically above the water line in most boats so if it fails, its the ideal place for it...

Forgot plug, part of the club now

I hesitate to comment because I feel like I'm only going to jinx myself and make it happen next time out lol... You'd think someone would have invented a one way drain valve by now so you'd never have to take it out except maybe once a year

    Shift shaft bushings

Thanks Mike... I was inspecting my drive and noticed there was some oil around the speedo connector and shift shaft knuckle... It had the same color as drive lube but I pressure tested my drive last year and it held pressure fine so I was hesitant to think its leaking (not saying its...

    U-Joints for 2003 Alpha One Gen 2

You should be good to go with a 2003 model drive... From what I've seen, all the drives '96 and up used a ujoint with a pretty easily sourced automotive equivalent... My drive is a 95 and uses a ujoint that basically doesn't exist outside of the Merc OEM and 3rd party marine manufacturers like...

    Shift shaft bushings

Is the bottom bushing on the upper shift shaft (shift shaft in the gimbal housing) supposed to fit loosely on the shaft?? I've noticed mine kinda wobbles around in the bottom bushing, but I recall seeing somewhere before that they had replaced theirs and it was still wobbly like it supposed to...

    Outdrive gasket pushing out

Not to beat a dead horse, but every supplier I can find that sells both the OEM mercruiser replacement nut and all aftermarket brands are all stainless steel... I did find that the recommended PN from mercruiser supercedes another part number so I wonder if they used to be plated brass and were...

    Outdrive gasket pushing out

Yea, as long as you lube the threads and are hand tightening them, you will be fine... the only way I've ever gotten stainless parts to gall is with power tools (impact driver) with dry threads... And as you feared, once it starts, you're done for.. You have to cut the bolt off.

    Mercruiser 6.2L Bravo 3 I/O alignment problems

How many boats are you working on?? You have alignment questions about a bravo drive here and alignment questions about an old merc drive on another post? EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realize you weren't the OP

    Alignment help!

was there a drive on the boat when you got it? You wouldn't have gotten the drive off easily if it was out of alignment... so if there was a drive on, and you too it off and now you're saying its out of alignment by a lot, something isn't adding up.

    Mercruiser 6.2L Bravo 3 I/O alignment problems

rear mounts cannot be adjusted, they hold the motor to the transom plate at the correct location... The only thing you can adjust is the height of the front mounts which will move the coupler up and down... To lower the coupler you want to raise the front, and to raise the coupler you want to...

    Mercruiser 6.2L Bravo 3 I/O alignment problems

recentering the gimbal bearing was my first thought as well if the drive came off easily.. probably got knocked out of alignment when removing the drive or doing the bellows work.. As mentioned above, use your alignment tool and knock the gimbal up/down/left/right while pushing in and it should...

    Alignment help!

it can be hard to tell what's going on by just looking... you really should unbolt the front mount and hang the motor by the front lifting eye and adjust the height with an engine hoist or chain fall or something until you get it aligned close and then see where you're at in the mount...

Rehab SportCraft 222 1983 deep V hull cuddy walkaround

Thats the key... you don't do stuff TOO fast, cuz you build up the anticipation of all the fun they will have once its done, then they have a blast once its complete... Then after a season or two goes buy, you sell the boat and then they miss it so much they want you to get a boat again, and...

Question - Advice for inside sidewall covering.

The idea of line-x or nonskid sounds like a good idea cuz it will help hide some of the flaws in the laminate/glasswork... But personally, I would do something that is going to be easy to clean... Nonskid (especially kiwigrip) is a bear to clean... I would stick with something smooth like...

    Outdrive gasket pushing out

Fair enough.. I replaced mine with 316 stainless but I always coat the threads with permatex aviation sealant so I want worried about it.. probably best to stick with plated brass though to be safe
