    850 Prop Shaft Seals

1975 SN 4294365 850 . I can't seem to find the prop seal dimensions. OEM 26-76868, Sierra 18-2002. Can someone provide? I like to have them in hand before tearing into this unit. Wrapped someone's nylon rope around prop, I looked on this site without effect. Thanks

Boat wandering at slow speeds, videos attached

My MercCruiser also has the wander problem at no wake speed. Trim position and the 4 blade prop helps a lot. Our Lake is very shallow In channels, 2 feet in spots. So trim sweet spot doesn't apply all the time.

    25' pontoon prop help

I don't know anything about Evinrude engines, could you have a "short" shaft and needing the "long" shaft version? Hopefully someone else will chime in. I'd post a picture of mine but the 85 Merc is off.

    25' pontoon prop help

It is too much pitch for that combo, but. I bought a similar setup. 22ft Toon - 85hp Merc. 13 x 23p pitch. No cavitation or slipping. The engine would only turn 3500 rpm. I figured it out, finding that the previous owner had mounted a transducer with a large mounting bracket to the bottom of the...

    Steermaster Mark II Reassembly

I'm rebuilding my 24' Harris FloteBoat. While having the helm off I decided to remove the Steermaster Mark II steering to lube it. Well mission accomplished but getting the gear/cable case back together has become a problem. Can anyone point me to a video or instructions on Reassembly? I seem...

    New to me 850 mercury

I have the same engine on my pontoon. Replaced a magnito driven 650. Mercury really screwed up the wiring system on the 70's engines. Some bean counter must of had a Brother-in-law in the wire harness business. Even if you remove the covering from control side you'll find insulation cracked...
