    How big can I go??

Depends on how heavy the boat gets after adding floor, seats, etc. As a side console it would likely perform very well. Wouldn't go any more power than that though. I've owned similar sized side consoles with 40 & 50 HP motors and with three adults and all the gear these boats were not in...

    Bilge under floor

I've seen boats with the forward bilge drained through a hose into the aft bilge. If the pump was hooked to that hose all the bilge water is now up front! Hope that's not the case but logic should prevail here.

    Bilge under floor

You said when you tested the bilge the water just disappears. Where did you expect it to go? The discharge hose for pump dumps the water overboard -- not to the front of the boat. The purpose of the pump is to get the water OUT of the boat.

How Much Voltage Drop Is Too Much?

Measuring voltage of a battery with no load is a rather useless test. Measure it with stuff turned on. Now if you show 12 volts or more you proved you have a reasonably good battery. If voltage drops below 12 volts you have a sick or discharged battery. But by all means clean and tighten all...

    Gauges

Voltmeter and fuel gauge are not engine dependent so they will work. Voltmeter just needs a positive and negative 12V connection as well as an internal light connection to the light switch. Same for fuel gauge but the "S" terminal on the gauge connects to the sender in the fuel tank. Tach...

    Boat trailer leaf springs+hubs

Google is your friend. Trailer axles are available with or without hubs, brakes, etc. Trailer parts web sites provide axle measuring instructions. These are load carrying members so whatever you plan to haul on this trailer must not over load it. You can even buy these parts at many farm...

Small engine replacement. LoveJoy shaft connector. How does it remove?

Most allen wrenches are made out of peanut butter. A good quality allen wrench will break before it bends.

    Myacht

Underway, at the dock, cruising, no wake, what???? Have you checked the loading? Too much weight on one side? Water trapped in a void on the heavy side. We can't see your boat so you need to be our eyes.

    Proper Castle Nut Installation

Actually, the term "pre-load" is used frequently on the forum and a tapered roller bearing for a free rolling assembly like a trailer wheel is not pre-loaded. In case of bearing replacement, pre-load can be used to ensure the bearing races are seated, but one major bearing producer indicates...

    Proper Castle Nut Installation

The cotter pin should be inserted 90 degrees from shown. In other words, remove it, and install it so you are looking at the edge of the pin, not the eye. This places more of the pin in the groove in the nut. Some nuts are thicker than others so that may have been an issue as well.

    Plastic Tanks are All Junk

I've not tried this on a fuel tank but I have had success in fixing threads in plastic by buying a metal fitting, doesn't matter what it's for as long as the thread is the same. Heat that fitting with a torch and screw it into the port. The hot fitting should reform the threads. You don't...

2005 60 bigfoot has me stumped

Sound like a total link & sync is needed. This process must be done in a specific sequence or you will never get it right. Yes - that procedure is detailed and far too long to type it all here. You need a Mercury service manual so you get all of these adjustments correct. Skip one or get it...
