    I'm looking at 60" for my 18' MR180, and even questioning whether I need the 72". Personally, I'd opt to go longer. Calm water, the 47" will likely be fine, but when you're in some chop and the bow is bouncing up and down you may find the prop coming out of the water.

    I may be mistaken, but I believe the bolt-on hinge is constructed of a different material than the weld-on, or at least have a zinc finish. I'm no metallurgist, but something to be mindful of.
