    Fuel question(s)

I agree whole heartedly that we shouldn't be burning our food in engines !! A big sales pitch to shore up farm crops and make a tiny dent in emissions to satisfy the tree huggars.. Very similar to the political movement on EV's, only the EV push if failing more than corn fuel. However, if...

    Fuel tank Capacity

Good luck funding anything on capacity online. I removed some panels in my boat to access the fuel tank inlet, there is normally a tag giving all information about your tank including capacity..

Did I flood it, did I mis use the remote, was it old fuel, or all of the above?

A simple compression test will show if there is an issue with a cylinder. Pull plugs out and look inside also. Just a few drops of oil in the water spreads out quickly and looks like a bunch, kinda like blood at a crime scene !!

    Hybrid Vehicles

The more battery "repairmen" we developed the more fires and explosions we can expect !! There have been more fires/ explosions with EV's than we ever had with the "Pinto's", and those were taken off the market !! When it is politically correct, I guess EV fires don't matter..

Brand New Boat Owner- Prop Question

Keep saving tour money for boating season....it is an expensive hobby !! In most cases, folks loose interest due to expenses of a boat, or, the others are not willing to spend the time and money for proper maintenance and upkeep and their boats fall apart sitting on a trailer in the backyard.

Rebuild each carb thoroughly with a factory rebuild kit so you will have all the correct setup adjustments for the motor. Do a link and sync on the carbs, get a factory service manual if you don't have one

Starcraft chieftain i/o to outboard conversion

Replace the transom wood with something more heavy duty and add some supports to those stringers which appear to be aluminum. Should not be hard to Fab some nice HD gussets to go from stringers up the transom. Then add your pod or other mount for an outboard. Replace the exterior plate with...

    Sealer for pontoon.

In my area, folks have claimed good success with a product made by "goop" .....it is a sealer that is brushed on and has fibers in it that plug small cracks and pinholes. Reviews have been very good but not sure it has been out long enough to determine long term use. On my small Jon boat...

    Fuel question(s)

Those are additives for storage, if fuel is used within three months stabilizer is not needed. However, I use it regularly, small amount added with each fillup. I also use Lucas fuel treatment every so often, helps keep idle smooth. I definetly add some type of stabilizer late in fall to be...

Stupid question…… garboard drain plug size

In my younger days when these types of plugs were more popular, we added a " handle" of some sort to help with tightening or loosening. Often drilled a small hole thru the raised hex and slipped a pin thru for extra grip. In a couple of my old leaky row boats you need to get that plug in or out...

    Fuel question(s)

If unsure, just pump out the tank and examine the fuel. You should be able to tell if any water is in the fuel. I bought a small 12v electric pump just for that purpose, less than 20 bucks total. I can drain any tank and check the fuel, not hard to see if fuel is bad. Once you know the tank...

    Boat buckle tie down location

I have a trailer setup similiar to what is shown and choose not to use these types of hold downs due to the issues shown. While many folks think they are great, I have spoke with a good number of them at our ramp, that were not happy with them due to failure from being submerged. I choosevto...

    Hybrid Vehicles

Ed's defiantly have their place , especially for local commuters. However they are advertised as the cure all for peoples transportation needs. Anyone that has gone on a lengthy vacation finds them less than ideal, to say the least.. I do a lot of towing, the EV really falls down there. Then...
