    1974 reinell cuddy restore

Sooo..... Getting close. Went thru trailer and replaced surge hitch, brakes, bearing, seals, tires, wiring, and drove it to dmv for a vin check so it can be registered. The only thing I got left for the trailer is guide posts if i want and also was thinking of putting a small ladder in the front...

    RWD Tow Vehicle Launch Issues?

I do the resperator/fit testing at my work. (Asbestos among other things)We use a bitterant smoker and have this paragraph to read. You would not believe how hard it is to keep a good seal to a face. You know when the subject breaks seal due to coughing and crying. Paper mask filters just limit...

    Setting transom with epoxy

Epoxy is also a little more flexible too. General debatable rule is epoxy sticks to everything and poly dont. If your prep is perfect poly will stick to epoxy. Also same with gel coat. It dont stick to epoxy well. With my build I had to do some stuff with epoxy due to prior repairs in the engine...

    Setting transom with epoxy

For your keyhole if you have material..... either thick wood or steel plate.... make something that sandwiches keyhole like 2 big washers. Use like 4 or so pieces of allthread. As long as whatever you use dont flex. Also when I did my transom I mixed in a little 1/4 chopped glass to give the...

    Electrical Issues

Determine everything downstream of the fuse and unplug/disconnect every device. New fuse. Wiggle n jiggle all the wires, if fuse blows u got a wiring issue. If not add each device until fuse pops. Replace device that popped fuse.

    Electrical Issues

If all your problems started after a change.... Revert back to known working condition..... Just temp, not undoing work. See if problem persists. If it goes away try to figure out what's wrong with your bat install. If it is still there, fix problem then work foward again

Fix gel coat or use keel guard

Just so you are aware.... Epoxy resin does not accept gel coat well. If you use epoxy you will have to cover with paint. If you want to gel coat you need polyester resin. With epoxy you have to buy the right hardener for the cure time you want. With poly you adjust kick time with amount of...

Locking outboard while boat is on the trailer

In todays age a battery operated 4" grinder is a "master key" so locks and cables will slow and deter some..... I would also look into hiding one of those apple tag things also so you would have a chance of recovery

Fix gel coat or use keel guard

I am going to assume you have no supplies like respirator, fin roller, glasses, and all the other tools/things you will need besides materials. Read the stickies and watch some how to vids. See what things you need to buy and price them out first. Initial costs could get pricey in todays...

Fix gel coat or use keel guard

Before trying to glass upside down on your boat I would do a couple training pieces. That alone will eat over a quart.

Need help with a wiring issue on a restore

For the on/off/on switch (6 terminal) if I remember right..... Think of it as 2 switches working together. Use the middle terminal for "light output" for each light. Then power in goes to both sides of "anchor light output" side so in either position power is fed to center term. Then on the...

    Signs of bad pour foam

When I did the foam I just did the wire thing kinda slow so it mixed well but didnt splash. I chuck it up in a drill then cover the chuck with tape to keep it clean. My foam mixed well and cured fine.

    Signs of bad pour foam

What I use for mixing.... 1/8" round stock with a 90 bend at the end. For resin I would let it build up a bit and beat it with a hammer when needing cleaning. For foam I think I just scraped it off with a knife

    Exterior vs interior plywood

Fyi... Plywood grades ab or c each side a being the best. And x designates exterior "waterproof glue" So acx will have a good finish side, a crap side and waterproof glue. Bcx ok finish side, crap side and waterproof glue. I dont think they make abx. My marine grade was almost identical on each...

No power to new Kenwood stereo reciever

So for what it's worth I tied power and memory together and didnt care about presets. Batteries are shut off unless I am in boat. I never loose presets or bluetooth settings for connecting for my phone. On my unit I think it just powers the clock?????. Didnt care, never checked

    Plastic under gas tank

Here is the kinda bad news. If the bag is wet its holding water against the aluminum tank. That will cause pitting and eventually start leaking gas
