Am I missing a step in gear lube swap?

    Cracking in peanut butter

I think if it was runny, that would be a good bet as to why it cracked. Did you have that problem with the larger fillets?

    Plywood for deck

It's a '93 Bayliner... an entry-level boat made without the highest quality materials and construction. I hope there are no problems with the stringers/transom, but it would be surprising if they are intact. Just trying to help prepare you for the likely discovery that your stringers and transom...

    Plywood for deck

If the floor has soft spots, odds are good that you have rot below the deck, in the stringers and transom. Have you checked them?

Water in bilge has returned in 1995 Four Winns 190 Horizon

If water is coming in from any of those, the presence of the water is normal. If you're just floating or driving around and you have water collecting in the bilge, you have a leak and need to fix it.

Water in bilge has returned in 1995 Four Winns 190 Horizon

I don’t agree. Water is normal if you have swimmers/skiers getting in and out of the boat, or if you take water over the bow or transom (or thru the vents, but that doesn’t sound right, either…). Under normal operating, though, there is no reason to find water in the bilge of an I/O unless...

Need options for making the ground flat enough to roll the trailer. Drive way pad.

My boat is 19' and weighs about the same - maybe a bit more - than yours. We have an uneven gravel driveway into our garage off an alley behind our house. The boat's parking space in the garage is essentially parallel to the alley. For several years after we first bought the boat, I was unable...

Water in bilge has returned in 1995 Four Winns 190 Horizon

I never advocate filling your boat with water. You are unlikely to get enough water in there to find the leak and you run the risk of introducing water to all sorts of places that would be better off dry. Putting a camera on a selfie stick and trying to see where water comes in while you are...

Lot more new boaters and large wakes?

Holiday weekends are the worst. You get many more inconsiderate or clueless boaters and it can really suck the fun out of a boat outing.

    (Re)Naming a new to me used boat…

Post #8 in the thread below is the definitive guide to renaming your boat. https://forums.iboats.com/threads/christening-your-boat.612891/

Trailer Plates and buying boat hours away?

I think my concern would be US Customs if you get the Ontario boat. We trailer our boat across the border every year and they very frequently check our trailer plates and registration.

best way to tow with a lund baron I/O?

Personally, I won’t tow tubes from the tow hook. A bridle attached to the transom tiedowns is your best bet. If the rope dragging in the water while pulling riders is a problem, get a booster ball. They work great, and they stop rope spray from hitting your riders.

    Peoples vs. Peoples/Gear weight limits?

Probably has more to do with when it was built... I am guessing the average weight of a person has gone up over the years. In any case, the weight limit, not the number of people, is what you should follow.

87 Chris Craft I/O sources of water intrusion?

Other possibility is a compromised seal between the gimbal housing and the transom. A cell phone on a selfie stick can be very handy to track down water coming when you're afloat.

    Drain plug question

Just replace the whole garboard plug assembly as others have recommended. Very easy to do. My concern would be the condition of the wood around the plug and things in the bilge, if the plug has not been removed for a while. How did they drain water out of the boat?

    Wood fillers for pontoon decking

ACE Hardware carries a less expensive (but very good) product similar to MarineTex. It's called PC-11 and it's a thick, two part epoxy. It would be ideal for what you describe.

What can I darken my deck with and add non skid?

He means gelcoat. It's colored polyester resin (same resin used with fiberglass to make your boat, most likely). You can mix it with fumed silica (sometimes called by the brand names of Cabosil or Aerosil) which serves a thickener for the gelcoat, which is otherwise pretty much the consistency...

Best way to fix this hull damage

Second option is to buy a gel coat repair kit (see below) and match the color as best you can. No matter what you do, you'll need to fiddle a bit because, as @zool noted, your color will have faded from what it was originally. I've used the Evercoat kit and it's not hard to get very close to...
