I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We're working on it now. How do I get the bushings and spacers out? I removed the outside bolt and the inside locknut but that's as far as I can go. I thought that I might be able to pry the stud out, but that didn't happen. How does it work? The end bolt is removed. The...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I now have all the part for the trim shocks. If the weather isn't horrible in the morning, I plan to get the things fixed.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

I've done what I can with what I have and my limited outboard knowledge. Most of the tuning stuff isn't included in my Service Manual. Did a lot of online research and found a wide variety of information. But not a lot that helped much. I did find this link from an old iboats...

    Comet Neowise

Anybody paying any attention to the comet? It won't be back for 6,800 years. I certainly won't be around then! :p My family and I finally got a look at it tonight. Skies were finally clear of clouds. It was very faint because of the hazy atmosphere here. But we finally made it out with...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

We took a couple days off but went back out to the garage this morning for a look-see at the motor play. In the process of investigating the motor play, I noticed this JB WaterWeld plug pooching out a little. Yikes! I sanded off the lump and examined carefully. Apparently, this JBWW...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

The boy and I went fishing this morning. The main focus of the trip was to tweak the carbs on the 50 HP Mercury but we did boat a few fish. A couple largemouth bass and some bluegill. I got the biggest bass but the boy got all the rest. Whupped me good! :D

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Hi all. Been a couple weeks and we've done some more work with the KF. We haven't been out on the water in almost 2 weeks because my wife was in home isolation. She got out 5 days ago and went back in today! As part of the bogging on acceleration issue, we checked to be sure that the...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

The boy and I went fishing a couple days ago. Got up at 0530 and left the house by 0600. It's an hour's drive to the lake. Stopped to buy shiners and breakfast along the way, so didn't launch the boat until 0730. Searched for a couple hours but didn't find any bass. Temperature and humidity...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Well, we didn't go out in the boat this morning. My wife was too tired and all 3 of us got new cell phones last evening so she and the boy wanted to stay home and mess (play) with them today. I'm a bit more patient. :p It was odd to me that engine struggled so much when it was...

    Nobody fishing?

We went out today but it was over 90 degrees and the sun was beating down. No fish but it was good to get out again even for a short while.

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Yesterday morning we headed to the lake for some fishing. Looks beautiful, right? But NO JOY!! After I got the Merc started, it kept wanting to die unless I was at high idle. I figured it was still cold, so pressed on. Got everybody in the boat and idled out of the no wake zone, hit the...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Hi all. Some new info for ya. I had some reflective stickers left over from the trailer light installation, so asked my wife to cut them to size and put them on the guide-ons for me. Did that 2 nights ago. The plan was to get everything ready to go fishing in the morning. Red reflectors on...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Today the boy and I achieved a couple of major milestones and the KF is essentially complete! We completed painting the guide-on PVC pipes and installed them on the uprights. Then we used stainless cable clamps with rubber insulators to get the electrical and hydraulic lines up off the deck...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

And today we got the new guide-ons installed, the PVC pipes painted and the trailer winch updated with a new extension pillow block. :) The new guide-ons are VERY high quality. I'm as pleased as can be. They're hot dipped galvanized AFTER bending, there's a strengthening gusset and a ring at...

I have returned... with a Starcraft this time!

Okay, time for May (and some June) pix and whatnot. I'll try to be brief. :p These are the old guide-on posts, made from a welded on piece of bed frame. Stainless folding cup holder behind driver's seat. Easily accessible by port-side passenger or angler in the rear casting...

1964 Glasspar Seafair Sedan - minor restore w/questions.

Welcome! Nice old boat! I had a 1966 version a couple of decades back. It had a 75HP Chrysler and performed well. Hated to let that one go. Looking forward to following your restoration. :encouragement: This was mine.
