    salt water in single cylinder

It will have a mercrusier serial number tag riveted by the starter Mercuriser buys gm base engines/ long block and builds them out so it is just a gm truck engine with minor tweaks

    salt water in single cylinder

090M is for metric. For some reason they used metric fasteners on some of the 4.3 blocks... in true GM fashion only some of the threads are metric- starter bolts, flywheel cover, and front/side motor mounts. I bought about $40 worth of SAE bolts to convert when I did my repower. If you are...

Cant start engine when opening throttle. Mercruiser 3.0

yes you can jumper around the neutral safety switch , but remember its there for a reason. May be an issue with the controller and not the switch. I would look at the shift plate and see if it is going in gear despite pushing the button in.

    aluminum prop comparison

Based on that feel I would go up 2" in pitch would probably get you there but you might loose holeshot and pulling ability some. you could also have cup added to your current prop

Running temp for 3.0 tks mercruiser suntracker 27 ft pontoon?

I would fatten up the idle mix a tad, and make sure idle speed is down. Was the old carb running rich ? if so maybe need to remove carbon from inside combustion chambers with sea foam or GM top engine cleaner

    aluminum prop comparison

I think he still has throttle to go when he hits the limiter limiter is normally 5100 or so maybe a touch higher for MPI

    Let's talk skill...

yes and likely you are overcorrecting try very small steering in puts, and there is a lag in steering response when OD is trimmed way up on the jumping when it goes into gear would be you have an issue with shift cable dragging. While the alpha dog clutch does require brisk shifting to pop into...

    Oil Pressure Sender failure modes?

I would suspect you have a ground issue between gauge and the block maybe at cannon plug. Not sure if power supply to gauge or voltage drop to gauge will do it... as mentioned put a mechanical gauge on a T run it so you know there is oil pressure in the engine.

    Thermostat/temp

No with a 160 stat the engines run about 170-175 so what you see is completely normal . My 5.0 with same stat runs the same temp.

    Popped through the intake.

Agreed the webber edlebrock is easy to tune if you have some background in it. If you have the factory webber put that on and see if the issue goes away. The rochester with one idle jet (screw?) is a mercarb. Merc made their own after GM stopped making 2 jets in late 80's or 1990 ish. Obviously...

What Is The Fuel Pressure Specs For 350;Mag MPI At The Rail?

you can always use an outboard tank or put the fuel line in a gas can temporarily to test. Last weekend I was trying to take the antisiphon valve off my friend boat and it snapped off... when we rigged up an OB tank that bypassed it it still ran the same chitty way so I broke the valve for...

    aluminum prop comparison

if you have more slip quite possible you have some wear on the prop maybe some burn marks on it doesnt cost much to run a AL prop through a rebuilder. if one is not local try Prop MD in minnesota, I have done mine via mail order. Send it in after end of season

    Hesitation on 351W

I think either a 600 or 750 will work on a stock engine that size. When I bought my partial engine from michigan motorz in 2016 they were using 600 cfm edlebrocks (1409) for the 5.7 L engines, while Mercruiser will use a 750 webber/edlebrock on their 357 reman engines... Since you already have...

    Hesitation on 351W

All carbs will have some type of enrichment system that kicks in as you get to WOT. Usually runs off vacuum that drops as throttle opens. on an edlebrock there is a step up rod that goes down in the primary jets that restricts the fuel at part throttle and cruise, at full throttle lower...

    Hesitation on 351W

Doubt you are running out of fuel supply -what do the plugs look like and are you sure your ignition is not missing or hitting a rev limiter? You may need to put in fatter secondary jets or try richer step up rods on the primary. the carb book from edlebrock is available on line has calibration...

    Knocking when turning

more so than that I have seen lack of pertinent info in repair manuals, that coupled with more complex mechanicals drives some issues

    Knocking when turning

Obviously the OP is missing something, that is a good list of little chit that can turn a 10 min job into a curse fest, especially the shift linkage being bent and grease in coupler- speaking from personal experience on those...

    Popped through the intake.

125 is good enough to run, and very even. seen much worse variation run just fine. As long as the plug seals the length of reach wont matter -Dont over think it
