Yea the super glue and baking soda is an amazing thing. I use it all the time for wood repair. I even did it in layers once and drilled and tapped and its still holding up years later.

    j200txeoc JOHNSON wont start

If you don’t have one you will want one. It can save your life and others. It’s the law in most places and can come with a fine if you don’t have it.

    j200txeoc JOHNSON wont start

Yes it would be on the controls or somewhere on the helm. Usually a red in color with a black connector. I had to ask as they sometimes get stepped on or bumped into and come off. No lanyard no spark.

If we’re me I would look for a long shaft so you’re not having to hang over the stern so much to operate it. The adjustable kicker mount should provide enough set back to pass behind your trim tabs. Jmo

mercury 9.8 hp .... water flows through but will not pee?

Is the water level high enough? Pumps are not self priming and need to be completed submerged. 6” to 8” above the pump.

1990 V4 runs on two cylinders at low RPMs

It’s a pretty common problem on those plastic bowels. Replacing them with the updated aluminum bowels would be the way go.

1990 V4 runs on two cylinders at low RPMs

What did you get for kits? I had a couple guys ask me to use the cheap kits they bought and found the needle and seats didn’t match.

    Opinions on aftermarket johnson/evinrude parts

I have always been a fan of Sierra and in some cases they are just as good as oem But of course oem is always the best way to go even if it cost a few more dollars. Jmo
