    Loss of power, won't plane

Carb rebuild would be a great plan. If the pump is oem rebuild it rather than replace. You’re not going to be able to do any fine tuning of the muffs. You need to be in the water for best results or a very large test tank which most don’t have access to.

    Loss of power, won't plane

The motor should be fine if it was only a minute. The impeller should be replaced. Even though it was lubed up it could have burned and hardened the tips. You come to far to take that chance.

    1986 Evinrude water pump issue

Are you bringing the water level above the pump it’s self. Pumps are not self priming and must be completely submerged.

very cool carb and intake manifold causing moisture

Back to the OP the only thing I have for you is to check your operating temp. If it’s running cold check your thermostat. Maybe it’s stuck open.

very cool carb and intake manifold causing moisture

That just brought back memories from automotive tec class when the instructor said there is no such thing as cold just less heat. I’m pretty sure half the class laughed thinking he was making a joke. But it’s true.

very cool carb and intake manifold causing moisture

To me this would be normal especially if your just trolling around for hours and not generating any heat under the cowl to help displace the moisture. But that’s just me. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

very cool carb and intake manifold causing moisture

Still not sure what say. As mentioned before I have seen it happen. Maybe yours is worse than what I have seen. Can you post a pic? Checked the running temp? Thermostat in working order or even there? Lots of people just take em out but they are important.

1967 Evinrude 18hp Fastwin with 25hp Carb: Trouble starting, staying running

Times are different Racer. Most people don’t try to fix their things any more. They just pay someone to do it or toss it out a buy a new one. The OP seems to be interested in learning and that’s makes me happy. I had a guy call me the other day about a blocked toilet and he told me he tried to...

    How to decarb an outboard?

Agreed with carbon guard. It’s good stuff. I did have great results from sea foam in my lawn mower and use it as a regular additive for maintenance reasons but still part of feels like it just another snake oil.

Need help debugging 72 Johnson sea horse 25

Is the tank vent fully open and working properly? Any new to you motor should at least have a water pump inspection and may as well replace the impeller for cheap insurance.

Water Pump Won't Prime 1991 90 HP Evinrude

Heard a story once about a new housing that was installed that only had a small hole in the outlet portion of it. It was either a bad casting or milling job which ever they did but there wasn’t a big enough port for water to flow. Not saying thats your problem but if you have it apart agin take...

    Eco carb cleaners?

Not personally but I have heard of it. Give a try. Worst case scenario you will have something to clean the shop floor with handy.

    Eco carb cleaners?

I used Simplegreen in the ultrasonic with good results but not on its own. Give a try and see how it works for you. All the best on the rest of your journey.

Hydrofoil/Dolfin Recommendations for a Neighbors Mercury Outboard 115 Pro XS

I would have to agree. They work for smaller boats and HP but a motor of that size shouldn’t have to struggle. There is likely a better solution to be found. If trimming doesn’t help there is more than likely an underlying issue somewhere. What kind of boat is it on?

    Carburetor clean versus carburetor rebuild

The solvents of your choice and heat from water will break down crud into fine pieces and ultra sonic vibrations break things from their grasp. I have never tried to clean a carb without removing the plug and if I had to guess I would think the machine alone wouldn’t clean these fine passages...
