The prop rotates clockwise going forward, so the prop is always trying to move left.
When the wheel is moved to the right it the prop is applying a lot of torque so this is where the PS system is needed to over come the load. When wheel moves to the left the prop is trying to go in that...

The impeller is held on by a Nut item 4. Probably need to remove aa nose cone on the end of the shaft to get at it

That would help, just not sure "now" if it isn't to late. If compressor was getting hot because of ventilation issue, and over time the comp gets weak. Hope cleaning it up gets it going, but looks a lot like my Mom's when she told me about the issue

The connectors are both 10 pin type, its just the old one only had 7 pins being used. The pins not used or were removed are
3 Tan - Water Temp Gauge
10 Brown/White - Trim Gauge
