Cool concept. **** poor execution. Kind of like the Plaid. By the end of the drive I wanted nothing to do with it if that makes sense.

    I have a leak.

3 days on the water now. Three days leak free. I'll call this one solved. New shift bellows it was. Going to have to inspect them more closely moving forward

I can't comment on a stock application th400 as... well... thats just way before my time at this point. I've had three six speeds go out right around 60k and one holding on by a thread. The failure was always 6 neutrals but reverse worked. I didn't care to know the failure because its not my...

    Cars you should have kept.

I've personally owned only 3 vehicles though ive been through dozens with work. That being said the one that sticks out in my mind was my parents 95 Isuzu rodeo. Have a soft spot for that. Nothing special or cool. Just nostalgia I guess.

The 10 speed GM uses is pretty good. The ford version (have both) is god awful. The 6 speed is an odd occurrence because I've had early and late models (gmt900 and 2k) and you'd think they're completely different models. The 4l60e sucks but I admittedly have never killed one. I've cooked a...

Lol. All good. I have an 84 4+3 which is why I was curious. I know those changed every MY but was unaware of the skip shift. (Explains why!) I'd wait through the emissions warranty.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

If you're wondering if your anti siphon valve is stuck, or clogged, here's a test....

My tank manufacturer actually reccomended the aluminum one for my tank. Galvanic corrosion was his reason. The original on my boat was 40 years old and still worked being aluminum... it ain't broke so I ain't fixing it lol. Though that isnt the norm.

That just had the default over drive engaged on the 4+3 no? The ZF6 had the skip shift I thought

    215 sundowner transom

My 4winns rotted from the top down. The bottom of the stringers were solid while the tops were rotted. The foam on the hull was also dry. There were foam holes that weren't sealed that leaked water in every time the carpet got wet. Typically everything does go though. My case wasn't normal.

I know it is. But its the principle of buying a manual in the first place, it should do what I want to do without having to disable crap or buy something.

Coincidentally, the only window mechanisms I've had to replace were manual ones.

At what it costs now to build a system comparable to what I built 10 years ago... the stock premium system is. I'm not going to say good but adequate. I deadened and did a CLD layer on my daily back in May and the stock setup is good enough now I won't mess with it. You have to get stupid to get...

BMW started it with having to reprogram the charging system for a new battery in the 00s. Actually most of the stupid crap we have now that makes me scratch my head is from the Germans. No dip sticks. Lifetime fluid fills. modular one piece headlamp assemblies...

I know stellantis has most of their current lineup recalled due to fire risks in some capacity. I've seen a few buildings go up from it. Fun story, I have one of those GM class action 8 speed transmissions and so far... its been one of the best slush boxes I've owned. I'll add in though for...

    which caulking is acceptable

I like boat life and their life caulk and seal. I recently bought a few tubes of the caulk. I had one that wouldn't adhear worth a ****. Peeled off like painters tape. The other tubes (which I then had to test because of the first one) was fine. First time I ever had an issue like that. It was...

    215 sundowner transom

IF it is only the transom... I suppose you could do it from the outside. I wouldn't and chances are the rest needs to be done anyway. But just a thought.

    Popped through the intake.

So I did a run at 3k and pull the plugs. I swapped in fresh plugs and ran for a hour and a half. Key off at speed and pull them. Look... lean to me. I did swap the intake over to the 4bbl and this was expected. I did test with the new wires a few weeks ago and the problem was no longer...

I know of a few small blocks that do that no problem. But you did change plugs more often. Got a K5 with like 330k on the original drive train.
