Not being completely empty =/= full. That drive gear oil looks original to the boat. If this boat is new to you, you need to do all of the maintenance that's been ignored. A new SEI drive is your quickest way back on the water, or something off CL if you can find it
Ha, didn't know you did the pontoon seat refit as well. Remote oil filter was the best thing I did when I swapped engines. Gotta put in some ball valves for winterizing, and it will almost be as easy to maintain as a 470 :)
No...
That cable is just a continuity wire, nothing to do with your issue.
Agree with @kenny nunez and @dubs283 that the overheat + not getting into gear would suspect shredding gears, broken outdrive driveshaft or spun engine coupler.
1. I'm not real clear on what happens when you activate the...
Wondering if anyone has replaced a curved glass windshield with flat glass. I bet a whole custom flat glass windshield would cost less than 1 piece of curved glass specific to that boat.
Whoa... You're either on compression OR exhaust stroke on #1. Not necessarily on 3 and/or 5. Without looking, certainly possible you have open intake valves on those cylinders, so your test might be wrong
Edit: and yes, that's the timing mark on the composite cover
Watch case tube diameter.
That's what I was thinking. But I think I'm looking at a diameter of 2-2.5mm
Saw some of these sets, they're too small. Looks like I need #47-39.
Good thoughts, I'll keep looking
Pin gauge looks to be the closest, though I can only find them in a big expensive set (and mostly sae). Drill bits aren't easily available in sub mm sizes I need, same with welding tools. Had already searched for hole gauge/wire gauge. I'm wondering how close I can get using various combos of...
Yes, I agree with that. Nothing to do with the point I was trying to make though. Anyway, not sure how long op ran it without water on. I'd be interested to know that, and what the impeller looks like if it gets changed.
