Then we need more accurate info because using 1.62 or 1.81 puts it into negative numbers, and I'm sure you know that is not possible

91 four winns 285 winterizing question

Could blow everything out first. I run the water pump until it will not shut off. Then disconnect the hose coming from the 12V pump and blow from there. After no more water comes out (only air), then finish draining the tank. You could probably blow when the hose fitting, I just never have

    Storage question

Outside is not like inside, but it will be ok. An OB can be stored up or down (I like down) but use something to keep rain out of the prop hub if stored up. Covering the motor is good idea to keep the weather off, but it will be ok if not Can keep the Bat connected, but it should have a...

    Alpha One lower unit assembly

I think this is a MR Alpha (or Gen 1) Best to let use know what your working on, not just Alpha. If it is then there is no issue. You dropped the lower without removing the entire drive. Left the upper attached to the boat. If this is the case, once your ready to re-install. Shift into...

44-hp Volvo Penta model 2003-T: how to remedy oil clumps?

Can you get some kind of a drain pan under the motor? Maybe cut one side out of a oil jug and lay it under the motor. Suck out all the oil you can before pulling the plug. Let the rest drain into the jug then suck that out. If you can get the plug out and drained, then get a hose drin kit...

    Volvo Penta D8 550 stbd exhaust temperature @ 1020F, port at 770F

Don't know for sure. If probe is right after the turbo then 1000 degrees or more would be right. If itsin the muffler then less because of water mix. Who knows the one reading 700 might be the problem. Just depends where the probe is located

4.3 GXI-F (2005) No spark or power at the coil. How do I check?

If this is correct then it can. That said, looking at cap pic in post 7, that's a flat cap which wasn't used (that I'm aware of) on a MEFI

4.3 GXI-F (2005) No spark or power at the coil. How do I check?

So long as the fuel pump relay (R4) turns ON, it means ignition (R5) is working. We are down to scanning and hope it doesn't mean the ECM blew

4.3 GXI-F (2005) No spark or power at the coil. How do I check?

Thanks s/n 4012188494 555 ECM with HVS distributor Hope the cap solves the issue. Most of us call then crap caps because they can look great and still fail. Its best to keep a spare in the boat just in case because they fail without warning. If the cap does not fix, then we need to get the...

4.3 GXI-F (2005) No spark or power at the coil. How do I check?

With that we need to see if there are any codes, so the motor needs scanned. It could be that crank sensor, ECM or other. To keep from throwing parts at it the motor needs to be scanned My guess (no serial number provided) is its a 555 ECM and not a MEFI. If it was a MEFI we could scan by an...
