    Installing plugs or finger slows down flywheel rpm. If coils,condensers and points are good you should be able to make fire in a 1/4 turn by passing flywheel magnet past coil

    The 3 cylinder engine are not known for smooth idle and a loose/worn steering cable will aggravate the shaking. I have seen them on aluminum boats cause a harmonic vibration that rattles all the loose items in hulls.

    1987 is a open deck motor with large cc chamber heads. 85-90 psi is normal at cranking for these models. The recirculation system suck on these older models so check the valves for stoppage/restriction. If hand pumping keeps it going crankcase compression is low

You can use a cheap diode or good diode, thin or thick circuit board, etc and this will effect price...
