    I didn't change to E/H but did change my load rite from surge to Electric. Removed the master cylinder and welded the slide to the coupler, so it would not move. The rest for yours would be as ding mentioned, its just higher cost

    Without testing I'm thinking corrosion and /or bad connection. Reason being because it get jerky, like if it starts to miss and oil pressure at zero. So something is reducing power enough that the gauge lowers. Does the temp gauge also show cold maybe?

    There should be an O-ring inside the hose fitting. See if its there or if its cracked. Been several write ups online about the cheap parts

    Spark is intermittent then its most likely the ignition module. Voltage spikes can take them out

    If I'm understanding correctly Power to all 3 wires but nothing is working. I would start looking at grounds. The ground cable from battery to engine block, then the 10 pin engine connector connector

    Ok Throttle cable should be same length as original. Changing the cable should not change the adjustment. Dont see how a cable would get that much slop

    That is classic corrosion issue. When you hit the trim the voltage drops so much that the motor dies. Look closer at the cable ends and do remove both ends of both cables to clean and inspect

    Assuming GXI and not GIX What is the motor serial number? What is the fuel pressure when it starts to surge? Is this a new to you boat or just a new problem?

    Remove the throttle cable and hold the carb closed, does it still go high? If it doesn't, adjust cable so it just slides back in place on the carb. Then remove again and turn the barrel one more turn so it applies a slight pressure to hold carb closed
