    If you have spark on some cylinders the stator is working.....it cannot make individual cylinders loose spark as all it does is charge a internal capacitor. Trigger of failed internal rectifier in switchbox will cause individual cylinders not to spark.

    Aware of the bulletin(below)..being a salty motor it is best to just replace seat as the surrounding aluminum may be degraded and wont hold the new seal. I have actually had more problems with new seal staying seated level than problems with old style.,especially in V-6's

    Is Vinegar Good for Desalinating Purposes ?

    This is the best way (above) as I use it (muriatic acid) to clean the salt cell's in my other job pool and spa. Will not hurt plastic or rubber at diluted ratio. Only thing is passage cannot be stopped up as must have some flow thru it so mix can pass thru and state removing buildup.

    Must not have worked on many Johnrudes Sea.......the seat is rubber an the cup is S/S. Just take a pick and roll the old one out and lube up the new one,pinch into a oval and insert and work back into place. If you remove the whole thing the the cup can be a bear to reinstall as angle and driver...

    Do a DVA test as sometime the ohms test will lie to you...
