    jmho... skeg looks ok if you were to polish up those welds on the plate, change oil fill washers (top/bottom) , fill and polish those holes with JB weld, and touch up any cracks and.....if no LU internal water ingress or damage to the LU gears a coat of paint will make it look like new !

    switches do no carry much current and unlikely 2 sets (remote switch and switch on motor) would go bad . I don't have the wiring but I thinK one version supplies the DOWN current because it is lower than the UP current. easy /cheaper stuff first... check connections and measure volts at...
