Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

I feel better about asking that question now.

2 Fuel Water filters ,2 totally different fuel contents,Fuel pros ,have a look at this

No, how long were the old filters on, were they changed at the same time? The filters aren't magic; if they're intact I can't imagine one would trap zero water. I'd be interested to see what the new filters look like after an hour of running

2 Fuel Water filters ,2 totally different fuel contents,Fuel pros ,have a look at this

Are we questioning what that second layer is? That's water for sure. And that golden color is just oldish gas I think. It can turn from clear pretty quickly

2 Fuel Water filters ,2 totally different fuel contents,Fuel pros ,have a look at this

Both were changed at the same time? Only thing I'd think is maybe your tank had water in it, but only one of the pickups got to it

Can the base of engine work? Two to bolts under engine are rusted and can

At this point you might as well cut that end and replace the cable

4.3L MPI 2007 Searay Sport 185. Single Alarm at 20 RPMs and higher

I'd be interested to see spark advance pre and post guardian mode at similar rpms. Most of that info isn't particularly interesting. What's the value below oil pressure? Water pressure? Was the boat warmed up? Water temp is cold and didn't rise.

Unscrew that square piece you have circled, there is one on the other side as well. The cable just slides out.

Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

True. I couldn't feel the end of the coupler fitting, maybe I should look harder.

Swapped out the alternator today, so yeah, they don't like being dunked either. Ready to splash, windy and cloudy today though. I need to get my boat lift back together after the storm. Some wiring got ripped out, I need to install a positive stop on/off rotary switch to prevent this from...

    4 to a 2 barrel carb

Or just buy a used carb and sell the one you have. No sense in adding complexity for a downgrade.

    4 to a 2 barrel carb

Guessing you'll need to rejet for the 3.7 as well.

I didn't take the cable off, just greased the ram. It really wasn't bad, not frozen just... Noticeable. Tough access back there, we have a spare cable on deck if need be. *completely stripping donor boat FTW*

Getting closer. Took apart the trim pump motor. Didn't look terrible until I got to the brushes, which were corroded in place. Back together, connections cleaned, trim now working. Steering was a bit tight but loosened up with a bit of grease. Alternator still not working, guess I shouldn't be...

Is E-10 Fuel Acceptable Early in the Season?

Yes, ethanol will dissolve a bit of water and keep it from accumulating on the bottom of the tank. Even merc has said e10 is fine to use since the 80s.

Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

Yeah, that's reasonable. I can see that the 2 gears and upper bearing are ok. Just need to inspect that lower bearing and the input shaft bearings. Guessing I need to disassemble the input shaft bearing pack for inspection (that makes it a bigger project, esp since I'll need to get a dial torque...

Boat swamped, let's see if we can get it running...

Well, I don't know that I want to tackle that. I've read about removing that bearing carrier ... And then I'll need tools to put it back together. How do you know it's the gear housing and not the driveshaft housing? I've got a spare gear housing. Like I said though, I'm trying to avoid the...
