    5.7L Non-Vortec to Vortec conversion

But how does it start when the temp dips into the upper 60's?

    Trim Down but NOT Up

What are you jumping exactly? red to small blue activates solenoid. Red to fat blue bypasses the solenoid. If you jump red to fat blue and it doesn't work, the solenoid isn't the issue.

A couple of quick Edelbrock ?'s

Ya know what, I just figured it out I think. When right side up under normal conditions, the float is actually pushing the needle closed, so you need to overcome the buoyancy of the float in order to open the needles. With it inverted and no gas, you just have to overcome the weight of the...

A couple of quick Edelbrock ?'s

Just wondering if the rubber tipped shiny things are seating properly. Yeah, there didn't seem to be a lot to screw up with user error.

A couple of quick Edelbrock ?'s

More or less got the screws sorted out, tried to mix/match screws from another carb, and of course didn't realize that they were imperial, while the Edelbrock was metric. Man I hate that. Anyway, got it back together, and am able to blow into the fuel intake with the carb upside down, although...

    03 4.3 carb and manifolds

I haven't seen anybody that's tried that. I'd be very curious to see how it works. Looks pretty slick, and prices keep coming down. Honestly, just the ability to tune it makes it worth the extra coin IMO. If you're going with a brand new 1409 anyway it really isn't that much more.

Help with vibration from 1400-3500 RPM

Shouldn't OP have a balance shaft engine (didn't see a serial #)? Either way, mounts (and brackets, also a different p/n) are the same height.

Did you set the dwell and timing after you replaced everything? First thing to check is to see if you're getting 12 volts at the coil positive terminal.

    92 Wellcraft Excel 18sx

Ooh, I get to be the first one to make the obligatory reply: Boat manufacturers don't usually have owner's manuals, the service manual that you want is for the engine. Which of course could be pretty much anything. So we'll need to know what engine and drivetrain you have, and for bonus points...

What tools needed to check over an old project bass boat before buying?

That makes more sense why it wouldn't start then any of the stator wiring. All you need is power to the yellow wire to get it to crank. The ignition circuit is separate on the white wire. The key switch should connect the white and red wires for the ignition circuit. So it sounds like you need...

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

Agree on both points... The high test would be for diagnostic purposes to see if the pinging goes away.

    Mercruiser 3.0 No Spark issues

You need an adjustable timing light. Might try some straight 93 after you burn through that 87. Also, did you check your fuel for water/crud?
