    Speedo Tube

Typically connects to back of pressure type speedometer. In my experiences the built in pito's on the lower units seem to clog easily, I prefer the seperate unit that mounts on the transom. But wirh GPS units giving speed, why bother ??

Each wire shoukd have a color code to trace it with, if not a multimeter to test two ends should trace each wire. Or...just run new wires and be done with it...Tach is a very important tool to keep performance going without strain on your motor.

The problem is, pontoons and boat hulls are made from tempered aluminum. Tempered material will bend but cracks when bent back. If they soften the temper the aluminum can be bent back to a point but now it is soft and will bend again easily !! Demand new logs !! It is your boat so your...

1956 Johnson 6hp versus evinrude 6hp pros and cons

HP ratings were different from the 50's up thru the late 60's to early 70's. HP was rated at the prop or the crankshaft. Sometimes a prop rated engine is changed to a crank rated engine with different HP ratings but are the same engines, just how the HP is rated.. Not sure the old 7.5 will be...

    Battery Configuration

In my opinion, the lipo's should go to the trolling motor as it has the highest draw. A good group 31 agm should handle your fish finders. On my boat, I have a good gp 31 agm for a house battery, all electronics, aereators, radios, ship to shore, lights, horn etc and never has dropped below...

Around the great lakes area, trolling is very popular so folks are looking for small motors to keep wear and tear off their big expensive motors. Most need long shaft motors to keep them higher up out of the prop wash.
