    You figured wrong, put them back! The older style bock HAS a circulation-system in the shape of a dog-bone. I suggest go over the wiring again, perhaps you set-up the trigger-wires wrong??

    Intermitted connection on the trigger wires, inspect the trigger-wires/terminals for the one that's not firing

    The '95 force motors were already equipped with a Mercury ignition-system. IF in deed you still have CDI boxes that are mounted on a mounting-bracket, then yes make SURE the Coil-packs are grounded with a thick wire to the block. there's a bolt in the bock (with multiple ground wires attached)...

    No paper gasket on these, but a blue sealer(permatex) that can be compressed is required there Regular red RTV is thick & can not compressed enough to obtain the minimum clearance necessary

    It could affect the crank-seals not sealing properly, resulting in crank-case pressure to transfer from one to the adjacent. Realize that this is not a 4-stroke with a common bottom-end/crank-case pressure, but each crank section has its own sealed by the crank-seals

    The wrong sealer was used when the engine was put together, the red silicone is used for hot are areas where clearance-gaps are not important such as oil-pans/valve-covers and such. this silicone is too thick to put between the two halves of the block, resulting in the crank not sitting in tight...

    Wow, how many times/people have to tell you; That switching to 91 Octane is NOT going to change anything BUT FRESH/correct MIXTURE may Sorry but the negativity is brought on by you, being dense; resulting in fellow boaters dropping you & You missing out on advice

    Yeah....increasing the octane will cure all your problems. AS you told earlier....that your fuel/oil mixture was waaay off The correct thing to do is; Empty your tank and fill it with the correct mixture while you do that, I'm going to the kitchen to get more popcorn

    How are you measuring your speed? the Tach in the boat? OR by GPS?

    Why would changing "the powerhead" (or even the entire motor) have an effect on the length of the cables? Unless you have moved the cables & controls also to the new boat??
