    apparently the 9.9 or 15hps are quite different beasts . your 9.5 is the choice for backwoods lakes , float plate trips etc... if it runs nice you may get a good price to invest in a bigger motor.

    so trim motor sounds ok by itself 2 new relays should be good 12volt comes out OK when no load is applied (the trim motor) buzzing relays can mean not enough volts/amps to energize the relay coils properly and the fact the outpout volts drop significantly seems to indicate...

    slow mode aka SAFE mode on ETECs ...did that exist in 1992 ??? if so.... what triggers SLOW mode...best to find out as it will point the way to happiness

    to check for sparks just use a drill to spin the fw while you ground the sparkplug to the engine body to at least confirm the presence of spark but an adjustable gap tester is even better has uggested. Suppose I should have ordered plug wires?... yes you should install new 7mm metallic...

    I find that a 1/4 inch impact screw driver works wonders on stuck bolts and screws start slow....

    I think BRP uses US size 5/32 Allen on OEM ...but I have managed to strip them. boils down to preferences I guess.

    backtrack a bit.... how did all this start suddenly ? any chance fuel is inadequate (contaminated) for some reason ? any chance the VRO is not working properly, is it getting good pulses from the crankcase to work under load at higher RPMS . smokes a lot ...oilsmoke ( bad mixing) or...

    me.... I prefer slotted because hex heads are easy to strip... never went back to hex heads Trying to remove s tripped he head is a real pia.
