    Look closely at the ID plate, if my memory serves me correctly a model name/ number should be on there. Mabey scratched off, but I think mine had a simple model name like a 12S or something like that...sorry I couldnt be more helpfull....

    Didn't catch on there on the first post, rarely is there a model number, mabey a name for the model. My ins co requires the hull number and name if there is one...your boat looks very familiar!!! Think I owned a model just like that in my much younger days...

    Radio Antenna Question . . .

    I added an old style auto antenna, the type that raises up and down, metal that slides inside each section attached to my console. Normally it works well in the lowered position, but if reception gets bad, I just raise up the antenna.

    Start checking electrical connections for corrosion. Doesn't take much corrosion to cause an issue.

    Why not just keep up with the impellor maintenence? Need replaced every three years with normal use, every year with extreme service. Not that hard to do.

    If the previous owner did not take care of his motor, what else did he not take care of ?? In my opinion the price is to high for the unkown issues. I would walk away. I bought my 1992 Sylvan side console with 40 hp Merc 40, all in mint garage kept condition for 4500, no way would I pay that...

    Why not start at the basics, do a compression check to make sure your engine is healthy. Then look for leaks, pump, hose, squeeze ball...have saw many develope small cracks that leak fuel, connections/ clamps, just found a small leak on my OB on the shake down cruise for the start of the...

    Also try alternating between heat and cold, the expansion then contraction often breaks them free.

    If people are sitting on it, that would make me want it sturdy and replace the wood. As time goes on, that bad wood will not get stronger !!
