Need feedback on my now "complete" floor / stringer 19ft stingray

The floor (deck) should not flex. Inspect the fiberglass over the deck and see if it is cracked or has some other defect. You could add a piece of glass/resin over the seam, where you board, to stiffen it.

Downsides of buying an IO Saltwater boat in the north east?

OK saltwater minimizes rot in wood. That is a backup strategy. However it corrodes metal whenever it can. Boats are "built" for both salt and freshwater, it makes no difference to the OEM. The real difference between salt and fresh water is the maintenance cycle. Cast iron manifolds and...

    Replace 2002 115hp lower unit

Driveshafts are the same length? Merc may make an extension for the shift shaft, I am not sure. I know they make extensions for the driveshafts, as part of the kits to create a 25" shaft from a 20" shaft. These have bolt on Midsection extension, driveshaft extension, longer studs, water...

    1995 Johnson 130hp runs crappy

Some motors with props with too much pitch run real bad. Like starting out in 3rd gear on a stick shift. I do not know the gear ratio of that motor offhand. A service manual will tell you how to link and synch, and may ID any linkage issues. I would use a prop wizard to see if your prop is...

Power steering , worse when running

If the steering gets harder with speed, your P/S is not working properly. I have seen that with low or no fluid.

    Painting my transom assembly.

Topcoat paint must be oil based, or it will fail. Zinc Chromate primer for aluminum is the best. There are marine enamels and 1 part polyurethane paints for just a bit more than Rustolium. They are likely better.

    Motor Advice

Is there a capacity plate? I would think 60HP would be about max for that style, length and age boat. KBB may have a max HP rating, if you know year and model.

    Stator electrical replacement question

If I remember correctly, the outer flywheel removal will allow access to the stator. So remove 8 5/16 bolts. Set the motor to TDC to ease re-installation of the outer flywheel. Use some blue locktite on the flywheel bolts, as well as the distributor cover bolt.

Johnson 150 v6 leaking gas at idle

Sure, 2 bolts and a puller, some heat and some luck to pull the bearing carrier. Easy stuff.. not, try the other seals first...

    1995 Johnson 130hp runs crappy

22P prop might be too tall. Is that original prop, and how was performance. But check for exhaust leak into hood. Sounds like a link and synch is in order.

Anchor bumper when being towed by larger boat?

Not sure I understand the Q. In the open water, tow the boat 25' behind. Tight water lash her along sides, with some bumpers. if avail. A 23 footer should not have an anchor that cannot be stowed in the bilge.

Johnson 150 v6 leaking gas at idle

If carb bowls are warped, they need to be replaced. Some try to sand them flat...not sure about that as fuel pickup tube may then be too long. Do a search on carb bowls. Perhaps you can find reasonable cost replacements. Usually high speed jets must be swapped to new bowls. Pressure test...

Johnson 150 v6 leaking gas at idle

Gearcase is supposed to be sealed, so leaking carbs should have no effect. You likely have two issues. Plastic carb bowls warp and leak. Driveshaft, prop shaft and shift shaft seals can leak.

    Steering Wheel

Marine Steering wheels are avail a lot of places. Probably not OEM replacements though. Pick something out, and see if it is compatible.

Silicone caulk is fine for that.

    1998 Mariner Outboard

The blue/white and green/white next to the male pin would be for trim/tilt. They would connect to matching color wires at the motor. The brown is likely for temp gauge. Another one is likely trim gauge. Not sure about the other. Your engine may not have senders for trim gauge and temp...

    Stator electrical replacement question

All IL6 motors had the terminal block where the stator wires were terminated. It was for convenience, and maybe allowed both 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder motors to use the same stator, at least for some years. If your stator wires reach the rectifier, connect them directly.

    Timimg on mercury

Generally the idle pickup timing for those ADI ignitions is 0-9* ATDC. That is the timing setting with the carbs closed, but ready to open. The timing at idle speed is not specified or important, once idle pickup timing and max spark advance (21*BTDC) is set properly.

Ebbtide 2003 Hard shifting at the control box, cables are good ?

Does the control move freely when cables disconnected? If not it likely needs cleaning and greasing. Most controls of that type are universal. Since different motors need different controls, yeah it makes a difference where cables are connected. i.e. Mercury OBs push throttle closed...

How to Remove Paint (or ?) Inside of Cabin?

Looks fine for carpet, just as you cleaned it. The weave is pretty well filled.
