Froze up 25 hp 5842749 serial no.

"not real high rpm"... Not 'real high' might be seen different to you than to me. These motors really shouldn't be run above 2000, perhaps even lower, when under no Load. First step is remove the Spark Plugs and see if water drains out of either Cylinder. If it does, spray copious amounts of WD...

One minute is a Tank, cause the Lakes are Frozen, then it is a Pond. I think a Pond would freeze sooner than a Lake... There is an Ignition Interrupter Switch on the Mercrusiers to make it a lot easier to shift out of Gear, perhaps it is sticking a bit and that kills the engine

Is it dying as it slows down and remains in gear, or are you shifting to Neutral as it is Slowing down?

I doubt the prop had a Solid Bite on the Water unless the Tank went under the Trailer and allowed a free flowing path for the water to get to the prop. Tank testing in gear is very limited. Have you got the Mercury Service Manual for it? If Not, then get it. Give me a Carbed engine with a...

So you were revving it it up to WOT in Neutral, or was a Prop Turning?

Froze up 25 hp 5842749 serial no.

Did it suddenly quit, or did it slow down and then quit? Or did you shut it down, then tried a day or two later and it was seized? How high were you revving it in the Barrel?

    16ft Glasspar w/65hp 2 stroke

The fewer the Blades the less Drag and thus more speed, however more blade area, gives a better bite on the water, and more blades tend to run smoother. Personally, I will Never run more than 3 blades, and if I could get a Modern 2 blade for my I/O, I would do so in a Heartbeat.

    The 4 cylinder 65 uses a larger gearcase than the 50hp or later 3 cylinder 65hp. I believe the Gear Ratio is 2.33:1, and with that a 13 - 13 1/2 X 15 would be a good starting point

The 115 2+2 is a Dog out of the hole. The late model inline 6 90s were real stump pullers, they just lost their Breath above 5000 rpm due to small ports. They were propped best between 4700 - 4800 rpm.

Only Spring Axles have that, if the Trailer has Torsion Axles, then that is not the case

Super Clean, that is the Purple Bottle? If so, it is Good Stuff. I've used Lye(Sodium Hydroxide) for many years to clean Bilges, but it needs to be rinsed out thoroughly afterwards

Just park on an Uphill stretch of road for a bit. If you are worried about Oil/Sludge, spill some Alkaline Cleaner in to the Bilge and some Hot Water, and tow the boat around for a bit. Drain and repeat a couple more times

I see a serious headache for you, as you will always be wondering/worrying about Rotted Stringers, etc. I suggest a For Sale sign. I know that is not the answer you were expecting, but you are displaying signs of Hating the Boat...

Self Service sells a lot of Unneeded Parts. Car owners are prime examples of that. They see the Check Engine Light, hook up a Scanner, Scanner says Code*** saying a Sensor is reading an Engine Parameter that is out of Range, so the owner puts in a New Sensor. Sensor was likely not the problem...

No. I see a huge Heavy Monster hanging on the back of boat, as for 'Switched Exhaust', I see a Major Reliability Problem, remember the the old Heat Riser Valves on Auto/Truck engines? Those things seized up regularly, and weren't always easy to free up. If that exhaust is to dump the waste and...
