    1983 140hp Suzuki or a 115hp 96 Johnson ocean runner

In 84 I was repowering my boat, and was going from a Crank rated 90 to a Prop rated 115, both Mercury. The Dealer also sold Suzuki, and had an 83 115 in the Showroom. He offered me an even better price on the Suki, but I wasn't confident in that Brand. A yr later, that engine was mounted on a...

evinrude 25hp painting with mercury paint .

I hate to have to tell you this, but painting an OMC motor, Phantom Black, isn't going to Boost the Horsepower

    Winter project seagull outboard

If you want that motor to survive, heed the 10:1 Mix. I am very serious about that. An added Bonus of the 10:1, you will get many thank you's for keeping the Mosquitos at Bay

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

I would be very nervous driving there, except on main highways. Were I live it is very flat. very few hills and very few Valleys. There are many sections of Highway that are Straight, no curves, for over 40 miles

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

My new camera, a Nikon can can use a new compression format to store the Raw files, making them about as small as a Highest Quality jpg file. However a lot of Image Editing Software can not uncompress the file to see the image. However the Software does display a kind of neat image of its own...

Rebuilding 1980 johnson 35 Cant split the case?

It was a valid comment, a lot of people don't take the Intake manifolds off of many OMC outboards and haven't found the bolts hidden in there

Rebuilding 1980 johnson 35 Cant split the case?

Getting the Name of the Part correct, makes it a lot easier for others to provide any Help/Advice. A Sarcastic response to some of the Best people on this Board, can get you on the Ignore List very quickly

    Caprice Shudder at Hwy Speed

Speaking of Driveshafts. My 86 Caddy Fleetwood Brougham had a Driveshaft that was a Tube within another Tube, with what looks similar to a rubber Prop Hub between them. One day, it developed an odd vibration. I had the wheel balance checked, U joints were fine, Driveline Angles looked okay. I...

    1976 Mercury 850 value

I like/love the Older Inline Mercs, but I also know, just about everyone of them suffers from decrepit Wiring(bad Insulation and copper dust inside), and issues with the Water Jacket gaskets inside the Exhaust Chamber on the Block. Also Parts are getting Scarce, and finding mechanics/shops that...

    1976 Mercury 850 value

Probably a lot less than it is worth to you. It is just about 47 yrs old. And motors that age need TLC and often a lot of parts replaced just to keep running, and a lot of those parts are NLA, though some can be found as NOS at dealers, and on ebay. If you keep it, before you run it again...

    Carburetor tuning on muffs

All the carbs are fed the same Fuel mix that the VRO supplies, so the only way a Cylinder by itself, would be affected, would be an Leaky Pulse/Vacuum Line between the Pump and the Crankcase.

    Carburetor tuning on muffs

Mix the premix at 16:1, just to insure it gets enough oil to spin a bit after you quit spraying, in case the carb is delivering no fuel to that cylinder.

    Carburetor tuning on muffs

While a possibility, Reed failure is very rare. Spray some premix into the middle carb and note how the engine responds

Lifting boat off trailer to repair bunk

While RTV has no structural Strength, moisture actually accelerates the Curing Process. Epoxy might be a better material to use to fill in the old holes, and can even be used to secure the Lag Screws if you want to use the same holes
