    Restoring McCulloch 14HP

Brings back memories from my childhood days. My folks had a cottage next door to a marina and I recall seeing lots of these motors around. If my memiry serves me well, I think Scott At Water, McCulloch and West Bend were all the same, one buying out the other over the years. None were very...

    Wood rot HELP

Many restoring threads on here, you have a lot of reading to do !!! Chances are excellent that you will be stripping this down to a bare hull, removing entire deck and upper half of this vessel. You might want to consider starting on a boat that is better condition to start with. There is an...

New to me Livingston not performing at its best

You sure your motor is running up to par?? Had a 14' Starcraft with a 15 hp Evinrude that jumped up on plane easily, little slower with two guys and fishing gear but still got up. I would be sure your motor is running its best...try doing a compression test to check its health.

    Prop hitting anode

Many cheap props are investment cast...this uses a wax model to create a casting mold for molten metal. If quality control is top notch, extremely accurate castings can be produced, how ever....if someone looks the other way for just a few seconds...you can have junk!!

    Pedestal Seat Base

The ball will get some air in it as the fuel passes thru, just the nature of the beast, just like water and drain lines. When the motor starts to bog and squeezing the ball brings it back life, sure sign of fuel delivery issues

johnson 70hp 2 stroke 1995 shut down when warm

Also clean the pickup in the tank. The outside of your fuel line can look perfect, it is the inside that fails and cones apart. Also the valve in your squeeze ball can become clogged with small bits of fuel line when they come apart as can the plug going into your motor. Your issue sounds fuel...

johnson 70hp 2 stroke 1995 shut down when warm

When it starts to die, have you tried squeezing the fuel line ball? Have you checked fuel filters? Is the fuel hose bad?? I would start with the easier stuff first if it were me.

    Evenrude 9.9hp 1982

You still need to attach those cables to the motor, there are parts needed to do that unless your motor already was set up for remote operation. Most of these small motors dont come from the factory setup for remote controls, so kits are needed to make the cables connect to the motor.
