    Do you use Loctite on your lower unit bolts?

    I don't think 271 is the answer even though the manual says so. I'm going to go with the Loctite blue cause I use this motor in salt water. I don't think it matters but I'm installing the Bay Manufacturing's short to long shaft conversion. It has SS studs that are used instead of the bolts.

    Yeah, I'll echo on the surprise I got while searching for a 18-20' DC. Been looking for about a year and it seams that used boats are being posted at NADA full retail value or higher. Last one I looked at had soft floors and looked like it was beat with a chain (2000 2100 DC Seaswirl, $12K).

    I have a 20HP OG113 engine and thought I was getting the BP8HN-10 plugs but it looks like I was sent BPZ8HS-10 plugs instead. Does anyone know if these spark plugs are interchangeable or am I sending them back? I know the BP8HN uses the larger socket than the other but thats all I see.

    Easier said than done since I haven't found any 20-25hp 1995 and up Merc engines for parts in my area. Lots of them salt free in the northern mid-west and Im in NJ. If I can find out the differences between the drive shaft housings I would be in good shape.

    1995 Mercury 20HP what years are compatible?

    85 and up are the same? I've seen 84-98, 84-94 and 84-04 and that's why I'm not sure. If I can locate a 25 I can use the carb and prop cause I think that's the only difference between the 20 & 25.
