Going for swapping plugs first, then probably freeze plugs. Not sure about this firing order... This is how it was connected but doesn't seem to match normal 302 firing order.

Sounds like a solid plan! Looks like that boat lets lots of light in especially with those nice long windows. Did you find out what's in the bow compartments??

So it's 1:05pm and the weather is good today and I told the admiral I could focus on either the console or the engine. She chose the 5.0 so that is coming next. Tune up time!

Cupboard with range hood details: The fan switch is a 3 position toggle and can select Exhaust, Off, or Cool. The high power exhaust fan pulls out smoke while about 10% of its flow/suction is allowed to pull air from behind the shroud, cooling it. The other fan is for less smokey occasions and...

Thanks! I've always really liked cedar. The look, smell, resistant properties. There was a bunch of cedar in the boat that previous owner installed. I've been recycling the original ceiling and wall panels for stuff like this, the bathroom, dining area ceiling. It was some of the only wood in it...

Yeah, I'm guessing maybe 9000 rpm?... lol So might be self hover capable, didn't flight test. But now I have a starboard-only docking thruster!

Exhaust vent fan for stove built into the oversized cupboard. Take out from a powerful blade server. This thing is like a leaf blower outside lol so going to need to get a dimmer switch for it.

Got the wiring started. First established power from house battery 1 in bow compartment to the main 12 circuit fuse panel by the sink. Close-ups of the heat shrink connectors I like with the glue inside. Was great to be able to turn the water pump on with the flip of a switch.

Probably bc it was the quickest and or easiest way, that's how a lot of DIY installs go... Since you don't normally have to worry about wood in your particular hull someone just had to add some for ya! 😅 Sealing it back up without the wood sounds like a really good idea. Have you tried spinning...

Self powered is definitely really nice in my opinion! So the kind he has just needs a good cleaning time to time to keep the algae off but otherwise is a reliable and reasonably accurate design in your experience would you say?

Thanks! I was trying to come up with something to keep the classic Mercruiser style. And I totally agree 100%. I wire things like they will be part of a submarine when I can. I do like the shrink tube stuff but lately for small connections I have been using a kit of terminals that have...

Started messing with console build, starting with the old Mercruiser 3 button switch. Found a stainless light up button that is a great match, 2 more on the way...

On mine the drive unbolted as a complete unit pretty easily from the back of the transom and when removed it had a universal and splined shaft that slid right out with it from (presumably) the flywheel that's inside that bell cover on the back. The engine just lifted right out after taking the 2...

Got a couple freeze plugs out, still have to remove motor mount to get to some of them better. Is RTV a good sealant for the new ones? Read Indian Head is good and I have that stuff too.

Trying to figure out how and where I'll mount these two group 24 house batteries.. Asked the site foreman but he was too busy catching a nap on the back of the boat. Thinking this forward compartment might be best to help balance more weight to the front for easier planing. Started making a...

I still haven't gotten to the point of pumping out yet on mine (still new/unused) but was wondering what it costs on average. Luckily around New England it is free at the fuel docks is what I'm told but depending where you are- who knows. Probably be good to look into!
