What have you done to the tapered piece on the flywheel that's matching the tapered piece on the crankshaft? Did you lube it, or did you clean it, or did you lap it with some lapping compound?

Agreed, Use the 4's and cut back on the 2 stroke oil. Oil is WAY better now, so leaning it back a bit for anyone who calls himself an "old man". I always clean the plugs. Carb spray, wire brush, compressed air and last but not least, my plumbing torch. They will last until there's no plug...

Yes....I've seen many people lube the flywheel taper when all they need to do is clean it. If you've done that, clean and use lapping compound. Flywheels are tough, but they have their limits.

94 four winns fling which engine

Great information really.....pretty sure what he means is put the least amount of money into it because there's much better stuff out there. Rebuild it yourself or let some kid fix it for free and make a YouTube video out of it.

Well if you took any engine and pop it in and out of gear, do you think that can't hurt the electrical? We know very little about this outboard.

    Have you ever seen this?

Second thing is is tomorrow's mother's Day so I think maybe it just lay off. But I believe the reason why it's hopping in at a gear is because you don't have a shift cable on your shift handle. By keeping the handle in the right position it very may possibly just stay in gear, but what the hell...

First off, learn how to make a YouTube video out of your phone video. I'm tired of having to download all these things just to see it running. Very easy and fun to do you do a free account and make a video and there's some other things to learn, and then send the link.

    1989 Evinrude 50hp

Is it coming out the telltale? Overheating? Then no, it will work. It's just not mating up nicely anymore. A little tiny bit of flat filling will probably cure it.

Or a uneducated/obtuse mechanic that will soon be with less "beer tokens" if it's okay to steal someone else's jingle.
