    fyi if you plan to work (kit) on the fuel pump. very tricky at first so read read read !! scribe/mark one side edges for easier reassembly https://www.leeroysramblings.com/Rebuilding_fuelpump.htm cheap pumps on AMAZON some like them some don't like them I have used them with success.

    yes run 24/1 twc3 oil fuel mix nothing wrong with 87 octane 10% fuel use fuel saver additive . I always store fully fuelled and carbs full during winter storage. never have problems.. you can run 16/1 in 1950s OBs and older 50/1 was pretty well the norm mid 1960s and up

    feeling for the crankcase pressure pulse is with the fuel pump removed ! and someone pulling the starter rope for you. if you fell no pressure pulse out of the engine side fuel pump pulse port the pump will never work . can you take this kicker in a good shop ?
