    it happens :-( concentrate on the bad plug...cct. the other one works ! could be condensers ( hard to test without a high voltage test box... VOM tests are not conclusive unless a solid short exists. did you swap wires to the bad plug why not install all new cooper core wires...

    "Replaced the check valve, spring and spacers and new gasket behind the intake assembly" yep did not see that comment :-( yet ... basic question remains... does enough air end up in the tank to push fuel back up ? answers are elusive.... pin hole would be tricky one yet 2 tanks...

    if you have air pressure loss use soapy water spray bottle and find the leak . check for bubbles ...... like checking a inner tube flat :-) on a bike vacum loss may be stopped with a temporary coating of grease on suspect junctions or tightly wrap in cellophane wrap on easy access...

    drop the GC remove pump cover replace impleller ...bit of sop or greas to slide it in the pump housing turning clockwise looking down take care not to pull out the drive shaft !! ... slide the pump cover up & past the o ring on top reverse procedure to install...

    when a new load of fuel enters the cyl. on the downstroke.. that fuel entering the cyl pushes the burnt fuel oil mix out the exhaust ports. unfortunately the ports being opned during that time will also permit a % of freah fresh fuel oil mix to take the same way out the exhaust...

    generally the cam has a mark on it. (look closely for the 2 small spikes) the mark should meet the cam follower just as the throtlle opens when the throtlle is at START. to line up cam and cam follower there are nuts underneath which you can loosen and pull out or push in the cam...

    it is an old style with a carb fix jet for the HS and a needle for LS you can adjust just gently seat the needle closed and back it out 1.125 turns ... warm up the motor adjust mid way between rich and lean a bit on the richer side

    no expert on much some would say but ...injectors are just electromagnets timed to allow fuel to reach the cyl for cimbustion the inner coil winding is basically good (continuity at a few "x" ohms) or open (R.I.P.) they can fail mechanically or electrically fail .. possibly...
