    1998 Mercury 150 2 stroke CDI replacement.

Crowleymarine cites the 7778A12 for the '98 Merc 150XL motor. If that is what you have, crowley guarantees fitment. That motor looks to be a generic 150HP motor with carbs. If you have the EFI or other models avail that year, you should doublecheck fitment. CDI electronics as well as other...

    Best way to mount a 20” Evinrude 110 on a 25” transom?

Motors that are set back from the transom can be raised for better performance. I would get a manually adjustable Jackplate and mount it as though you had a 20" transom. Now you can start raising the motor up on the jackplate until you like the efficiency, speed and handling.

    Merc's 150 HP 2 Stroke EFI Motor.-

To be fair, modern automotive spark plugs are rated for 100K miles. I changed the ones in my 2009 Altima a couple of years ago, due to mileage spec. They looked fine. OBs are a different animal, as rust (at least here in the NaCl-H2O) gets their exteriors.

    Best way to mount a 20” Evinrude 110 on a 25” transom?

A Jackplate may work for you. It has to have enough setback for steering and control cables to clear.

    Replacing plywood with solid wood?

Isn't mahogany quite an oily wood? If so, resin will be a challenge to get to stick well. An old friend of mine had a 50's mahogany hull with fiberglass over the mahogany on the bottom. The fiberglass had a bad habit of peeling. Stick with the plywood, would be my recommendation.

    Fuel tank dimensions

Fuel sending units found in marine stores are often universal. You cut the aluminum "rail" to length, and then set the float to the proper height.

Air don't freeze... RV antifreeze DOES!

You do realize that sewer gas is methane? Methane is more flammable than kerosene

Air don't freeze... RV antifreeze DOES!

Ok Bob, so 2 oz of kerosene in your holding tank is an issue. For you, use some automotive antifreeze.

Does the crowleymarine web site show the part? They are pretty accurate.

    40 to 50 powerhead swap

if the crack is in the crankcase, it may be fixable with marine-tex and fiberglass cloth. I have patched a couple of blocks that way.

    Crownline 180br 2010 wiring help

Tachometer signal source is from the motor. The hour meter is simply a clock powered by the ignition power wire. Mercruisers have a single wiring plug on them. The tachometer wire is a particular color, likely grey, in that harness. I would look on the ignition module or coil and see if...

Air don't freeze... RV antifreeze DOES!

Gee, the kerosene only goes into the drains, when you turn off the heat and leave. Not sure how it would catch fire, in the sink trap.

Air don't freeze... RV antifreeze DOES!

For sink traps we always used kerosene. That never freezes. I used automotive antifreeze in my I/O. I would use it straight out of the bottle, and recover it for reuse in the spring. It also gave rust protection to the cast iron block.

    99 Johnson 150

That looks to be the 60* V6 motor. A very good motor, with a proven design and proven ign, gearcase and fuel systems. I have the 1998 version and it runs very well. The only weak point is that the plastic carb bowls can warp. They must be replaced at that time, which is a drag.

I doubt the Permatex caused the thread strippage. It did cause the rest of the mess, however.

Also, check the fuel; pump. If the diaphragm develops a hole, raw fuel is allowed into the crankcase, and can cause the symptoms you see.

When was the last time the carbs were overhauled? Maybe the carb is flooding?

    Maintenance manual needed

Motor wiring diagrams are usually motor and outdrive specific. Boat wiring diagrams are boat specific, but not complicated. FourWinns were V-P at one time. What do you have?
