    trailer dolly?

People use garden tractors to move boats. BTW - A 20' trailer will not fit completely in most std garages., due to its tongue length.

    mercruiser I/O trim sensor

So, if you had them apart, use a test light or ohmmeter to trace the wire from the inside of the boat to the trim sensor. BTW - those trim gauges when new are not real accurate. The best you they do is tell you when your outdrive is all the way down or all the way up. Both of those you can...

    mercruiser I/O trim sensor

Alpha one drives have the trim limit switch on one of the outdrives pivot, and the trim sender on the other outdrive pivot. Pull off the plastic covers over them and you should see what kind of condition they are in, and which is which. Since they are exposed to the water, they can degrade...

    Boat Wiring Help

First, I would not think you will want the trolling motor and OB on the same battery. They should use different kinds of batteries. Also, the trolling motor uses the most power of anything you have and will run the OB starting battery down. Second, that three switch setup will get you what...

    Motor opinion

Compression gauges need to be accurate and reliable. Most (due to their cheap construction), are reliable, but not accurate. That is that they show the same compression number, for the same compression pressure. So, most often, if a motor's cylinders are within 10-15% in compression...

Update on my electric fuel pump installation.

Most OB water pressure gauges are mechanical, at least those I have seen. They cannot power anything.

Update on my electric fuel pump installation.

So you need to remember to turn it off, if the fuel line leaks and the engine stalls? If so, that is a safety issue. Consider that you if hit something, the fuel line breaks and you are too dazed to turn off the fuel pump at the switch. Not unlikely in a collision scenario. if you have a 4...

Update on my electric fuel pump installation.

OK, electric fuel pumps work well. How did you wire it in safely? If the fuel line breaks and the engine stalls, does it continue to pump and fill your bilge with gasoline?

    Nitro boats use balsa wood?

Gee, I hope not. Every boat I had which used balsa had lots of rot in it. Luckily it was just hatch cover guts. If your transom is balsa, and it got wet, it will be mush.

Inboard Engine Cover is Really Heavy

Likely not 1/4 plywood, as it is not strong enough. On a cover that size, even 1/2 plywood would need reinforcement, across the short side. Best to pull the vinyl off and see what you have. 1/2 plywood is easily replaced, and can be made as well as the original.

Inboard Engine Cover is Really Heavy

Replace any soggy plywood. What is the balance of the cover made of?

Early 80’s merc 2.0 150 V6 brown band clamshell black max ratio

QBhoy Clamshell cowling found on 80's Merc 150s swing open from the front. The style solid cowling in your picture looks like my '93 Merc V6. The decals also look like the early 90's motors. My motor has a 2::1 gear ratio, but the gearcase is from an '88 Merc 150V6. A silver disc on top of...

    2006 175 Optimax been sitting 8+ years

Optimax uses ports on fuel and air rails to diagnose engine issues. These will clearly indicate is fuel pumps are working and if air compressor is working. You might look into a set of gauges. They are similar to a/c gauges, but would require different fittings. May be adaptable?

    Intermittent four beeps engine sputter

4 beeps is water in fuel on Optimax motors. Not sure about yours. Do you have the water separator under the cowling like Optimax?

    1996 Johnson 150 no spark

Yes, Some might conclude that12VDC is used by the powerpack, if one looked at the wiring diagram, and specifically traced the yellow/red wire from the starter solenoid, to the powerpack. However, there are alternate facts, or so I have been told.

    More testing on Sharrow prop...

If they want to mass market that prop, the price will need to get to $1500 or so. it does not look that hard to cast, so that should be doable. Remember, the first new integrated circuit of a new design costs $500K. After that they cost a few cents apiece, but you need to amortize the initial...

    Short in my analog gauges!!!!!!!

Gauges need ground, power and some kind of sender. Power and ground are common to all gauges, If more than one malfunctions, suspect power and/or ground. Likely all gauges are powered by one small amp rated fuse.

I use whatever the Home Despot has on hand for outdoor carpet.

    Which carpet glue?

Any indoor/outdoor carpet mastic. Latex works good, but must not get wet until it has dried.

    What are these ?

Actually they were inline circuit breakers. I suspect they are garbage now.
