    2012 Axis

Everything rubber/plastic/paint attched to the manifold would be completely melted if it got hot enough to damage the casting... Most likely freeze damage you didnt preiously notice or manufacturing defect. Do you have water in the oil ?

    1989 Capri Prop question

Unless it is really beat up I would put it in the water first and and see where it lands WOT rpm wise before buying anything. Or just get yours repaired if you have a local prop shop typically aluminum props are like $85 to fix

    Perma Lube Gimbal Bearing Replacement

I’ve never had an issue getting them in , a little grease keeps corrosion at bay, I’ve used a 1” wooden dowel and. 3” pvc pipe to knock them in . It’s not that technical don’t sweat it

    Prealpha trim pump leak

I assume he has a metal reservoir used on MC1 s or similar of that era prior to the intro of the R, MR, Alpha … would be good to see a picture of the pump and reservoir so we know what screw is leaking

1998 Bravo 7.4 Non-Magnum - Have Ruined 3 Impellers w/o ever putting the boat on the water...

I think you’d be ok reusing that housing. As you determined the issue was inadequate water supply. If the three impellers you roached essentially running them dry did any of them loose vanes? If they did you need to find the rubber pieces so they dont clog thee thermostat or riser passages

    1992 Celebrity w/350 magnum

What he said. The driveline is robust. But with that age look for rot. If the boat has been left uncovered walk away.

1993 Johnson 115hp prop for sking

Yes there are but need to know your current prop and wot rpm to make a reccomendation. i switched to four blades for just this purpose . Would recommend michigan vortex as a good starter prop. They are aluminum so relatively cheap… would drop 1” in pitch from your current three blade assuming...

Mercury 4cyl stumbles at hole shot and underway

Yes ethanol can affect carb parts on really old items. If yhe kit was made in the last 20 years it will be made of ethanol tolerant materials. Mikes carb parts is a good source for individual parts like an accelerator pump

    Vortec 350 5.7 Mercruiser Build

True but if you want swaged ends on the hoses and longer hoses it will be a bit more. Marine power makes an excellent one.

    Vortec 350 5.7 Mercruiser Build

Spend the $200 on a remote set up. I regret not doing that while my wallet was open when I repowered. Regret it every year changing the filter upsidedown....

    Newbie prop/hub ?

Maybe I think you are seeing that the bigger diamter (16) Aluminum is needed to push this boat. The vengence is really a stainless version of a black max, I think a cheap way for dealers to get something shinny on there. The eneria should bite better and your engine has a fairly broad WOT...

    Newbie prop/hub ?

Yes either can be used , if it chatters it only hurts your ears . You can get a rubber hub like mentioned merc also makes a flo torq ssr hub for their heavier props like the enertia etc. try with what you have and upgrade if needed going up 2” in pitch and to a prop with more bite like enertia...

    Octane requirment for a 1993 4.3LX

If you burn through it regularly its not an issue -really only a problem when it sits. We have a boat and a jet ski. I always fill the boat with 92 octane non ethanol, because thats all the local marina carries and i don’t feel like lugging cans for 30 gal fill ups. Conversely the ski i fill...
