    Dripping engine block fitting

You may want to replace the plastic plugs at some point they tend to get brittle from the heat And a bag of 5 cost like $10

New to Forum / New Boat / Selecting the correct prop

He is saying 19" pitch the diameter is determined by the prop manufacturer so just stay focused on pitch. If you are only turning 4500 with a 17" pitch I would no go up in pitch as that will lower WOT RPM. My thoughts would be to get either your current prop fixed or get to know the boat with...

    Under proped with light load

Ive had good luck with Michigan Vortex 4 blade props. They are relatively inexpensive. Used to run a 16" for skiing and 18" for general use and tubing. I would think an 18" would do pretty good with that boat and engine. 48 mph is about what I would expect with that combo, actually surprised...

    Possibly seized motor?

Pull the drive to make sure it is not the gimbal bearing u joints or drive that is seized its nit uncommon to have water in the bellows, if it sat for 6 years the ginbal and ujoints might be siezed.

Mercruiser 4.3L pushes 2400# runabout only 36mph max

id bet the enertia would have lower rpms than the turning point due to better bite and less slip. if you are only swinging an aluminum 21 “ to 4100 rpm, assuming the tach is accurate, you need more power or go down in pitch. You will only get more speed out of a higher pitch prop if the engine...

Mercruiser knocks but only after 3,000 RPMs under load

Sounds a lot like this video I saw, and rpm seems to be similar - in the comments owners states it was the head gasket that blew after and overheat. Do you see any evdience of water on the spark plugs

    Running without Reverse Gate..?

The tolernaces between the pump and the gate are fairly large 1/2" or so. Id look at some youtube videos or if you know anyonw with a jetski go look at theirs. It is just a cup that slides down over the oulet of the jet pump. When partially down you basically have even forward and reward...

No water out transom or exhaust

I had a blade off the impeller break off years ago , blocked the water outlet passage in the pump body in the drive absolutely zero water from the muffs could get past it

OMC King Cobra won't engage forward gear, but reverse works good

Point is that there are plenty of affordable used boats that dont have the challenges of owning a system that many pieces are NLA, essentially obsolete. nothing worse than some one buys a boat and cant get or keep it running Or under estimate how much $$$ it will take. Sure guys like Lou who are...

    Running without Reverse Gate..?

You’re going to want want it on there. A jet has no neutral like a outboard or stern drive impeller is turning and producing forward thrust at idle. the reverse gate is a large cup that snaps down over the pump outlet to direct water flow forward instead of rear ward. i would find out who made...

Why an increase in engine horsepower will hurt your ‘holeshot’, acceleration and midrange cruising.

Depends on the cam the hall it is pushing in the engine. As Bondo stated a typical hot rod cam doesn’t work in the boat because it doesn’t have enough torque to push the boat through the water if you have a typical aftermarket marine/RV/towing Cam yes you can get a few more ponies But if the Cam...

Why an increase in engine horsepower will hurt your ‘holeshot’, acceleration and midrange cruising.

Depends on the impeller in the pump in combo with engine and hull I swap the Solis in place of the damaged and tell her on my Sea-Doo JetSki and I get better hole shot but the red stone cold quite as high which tells me I don’t have enough power to swing a impeller with more bite on the top end

    New 01 Bayliner 4.3 MC...have a few questions

You can run the engine safely below 1000 rpm with the outdrive in trailer postion. Where we keep our boat is in a shallow cove where the water is only 27" (68 cm) or so deep so I have a long idle out to deeper water with the outdrive almost completly up. I have done this for many (35) years on...

TBI 260 Wont Idle When Warm - Will Run other RPM

Spray starting fluid at the gasket surfaces by the intake, throttle body etc. If there is a vacum leak the starting fluid will get sucked in and pick up some rpm.

Best prop for tube / skis - 2011 Bayliner 175 (3.0 Mercruiser TKS)

I had good luck on a similar size searay (also 3.0 powered) with Michigan Vortex 4 blade props - used a 16" for skiiing, 18" for general crusing and tubing. What you already ordered will likely move it in the right direction vs the 21". Try out what you ordered and look at what your WOT rpm is...
