Where is this water coming from?

O ring in water passage on left hand side of drive , maybe water is coming up the gaskets flange between bell housing and drive and presenting there? Its either that or a cracked drive housing water shouldn’t be up in that area of the drive. No fault warranty they should replace

    Single point drain winterization

They wouldn't be scrambling fo rnew engines, but their heat exchangers would be cracked. Im surprised more folks dont drain being that it is not unusual to get some freezing temps , just not like it was this year. Even with 5 points I can drain mine in about 10 mintues for a basic freeze protection

    Single point drain winterization

The drain is the same size for all the drains on a multi point system so likely it would work. If you are concerned, Then drop the hose next to it. Bottom line the system is convoluted.

    1989 vs 2008 4.3 differences

Yeah the mixed US and Metric sizes is pretty funny, not sure why GM did that as the US size 3/8" x16 is so close in size to the M10 on the metric blocks. Usually the block casting number will have an M in it like mine was a 090M for metric.

SX outdrive stuck or was now broke :(

How did you pry the drive back with such force that it busted the housing?

    Single point drain winterization

I'm not sure how big hoses 11,12,&8 are I would think it would work as long as they are not small 1/2" or so hoses. Best way to find out is to take the hoses off and make sure they are drained, especially the cool fuel. This is why people scoff at the single point drain system to verify it works...

    Single point drain winterization

then go get your free help elsewhere... hoses labeled 14,13, 12, 10 (x2) are relatively small in diameter and can get clogged. They all feed the manifold #9 and drain through the plastic ball housing in the lower RH corner. Since you cannot see how much water comes out of each individual drain...

New 5.7l Vortec safety oil pressure switch for electric fuel pump issues.

You are losing voltage during cranking or have a weak battery - by removing yellow res from the key you are removing the load, something down stream of this point is losing voltage during cranking. If youy just replaced the starter and cable double check the connection on the big starter lug is...

New Mercruiser 5.7 with oil/water mixing

It seemed tlike this is what he was talking about. Its a compolete remanufactured bobtail from Merc and yes it does have a 4 bbl carb. None of the reman engines use the 2 bbl for some reason. https://www.michiganmotorz.com/5-7l-complete-engine-package-357-magnum-alpha-4v-mercruiser-applications

    Out drive oil

I also had an older gen one , issue you run into is if you have an input shaft leaking oil into the bellow you would never know And your upper will be running dry. just fill it with the lube pump to the top plug, then put the plug in and keep pumping until the oil is seen in the reservoir . This...

    Serial Number Help

I dont know where the SN will be on a 3.0 but usually there is a mercruiser tag riveted to the flywheel cover area of the block, a tag on the flam arrestor cover, and if the original owenrs manual etc is in there there is usually a mercruiser book that came with the power package that I think...

1993 MerCruiser 4.3L V6 RAN OUT OF OIL

If you lost oil pressure and now with oil have a knock I'd pull it and inspect bearings etc. Even if it was by change a lifter or cam issue as suggested there is still likely metal in the engine that needs to be cleaned out.

    Exhaust Bellows

Yes a bunch of people on the stern or swim platform would increase the risk. I think this is built into the calulation from mercruiser, but I did notice on my boat (2004 Sea Ray 200) that Sea Ray adds a couple extra inches to the clearnace. They use no riser on this boat with a 4.3, but the 5.0...
