    Guess, you did not check the connections of the old like I asked. So it did not work with new but does work with old. So either the new is different from the old, or the new is bad

    Motor has 2 different means to power the coil Key in ON/RUN sends 12V thru resistor directly to the coil. Reaches coil with around 9V Key turned to Start sends 12V to starter solenoid. Solenoid energizes and connects power to starter and also sends full 12V bypassing the resistor (Green wire)...

    When running the voltage powering the coil goes thru a resistor which "should" drop the voltage down to around 9V. There is probably a weak connection in the key switch so voltage jumps around. It will start without full voltage (green wire) but will have a harder time doing so mostly when cold.

    If it takes a while before it happens its not the valve When it happens, stop the motor. Go to the gas cap and get your ear close to the gas cap, then open the cap. If you hear air suck in then its the tank vent line, might be clogged

    How was this checked? My guess is the motor took on water from stopping abruptly. Need to take all plugs out and crank the motor over a few times. If it doesn't start after that, go thru the TBV troubleshooting guide
