    Suggest take the timing cover off also to check those timing marks. In my teen's I had a 66 Galaxy with a 292 and remember the timing marks being matched side ways. Looked it up and sure enough they are (12 links).

    Look for the block casting number below the distributor on the deck port side

    Look on the engine block for the casting number. There will be a 4 digit casting code and followed by a 4 digit block code. I'm starting to think the motor might be a 292. Either that or if it has a plastic timing gear it might have stripped some and moved

    20 to 22 degrees advance seems good enough Most balancers if they slip its only by a few degrees, for it to be 180 out I wonder if the motor was worked on and the cam was installed 180 out.

    Don't know of any, and I don't do much at all stock trading. Last one I bought was Ford in 2008 at $1 a share. Most sites allow a dollar figure and number of shares to be set, along with time constraint, but don't know anything about fractional shares

    Your guy is a parts changer. Replaced exhaust before knowing what the problem is. If there was no running issue until the water intrusion, then its not a head gasket. Most likely its bearings and/or cylinder walls are rusted. If this is the case, the motor can be overhauled for not a lot more...

    Must like spending money Why get new springs if you don't know if the dizzy is advancing or not. If it is then how much No need for new damper but could use some $5 timing tape while you figure out what is and is not working

    Never thought much of Petronix but if that's what ya want Don't need the dual point ones. Also, if your not getting advance then these will not help. Need to find out if your dizzy is advancing by watching it as rpm increases with timing light...

    No thoughts of just designing with an all out one of a kind pattern? With Boltaflex being the best, what about going back with it?
