    There are 2 different 115 HP models in 1997.----Model # of your motor ??---I do not believe the V-4 models had an insufficient fuel flow alarm on them.----- Constant alarm could be for overheat as well.----Yes OVERHEAT alarm.

    A 2 stroke motor in good condition will idle / troll all day long.----And run full throttle the next day all day long !!!-----I used to troll with a V-6 Johnson 235 HP.----Hours at a time and no sparkplug fouling issues.

    Easy to take carburetor apart for inspection !-----Maybe tap the carburetor with a hammer ( piece of firewood ??).-----When you operate the manual pump you are also testing.-----Fuel MUST flow to the motor ( 3 or 4 pumps ) when you operated the bulb.------If that does not happen something is wrong.

    Four of these monsters will replace 5 or 6 of the 350 / 450 HP motors.------One of the features ( not cheap ) on these motors is the " fly by wire " of throttle / shifting / steering systems.----Clean installations.------Not cheap but so convenient for the folks in these snack brackets...

    Some trouble shooting required on your part !!-----You could put a few drops of fuel in the cylinder through spark plug hole.----Try and start it and report if it " barks " for you.----Carburetors are simple / easy to inspect and repair.

    If carburetor was full of fuel it is likely flooded now.------Pull on the cord , check for spark.-----If you have spark , pull cord ( no choke ) till it starts.

    When you remove a drain plug you have to see water coming out !----If no water you need to poke around with a wire and remove the plug of sand / silt etc.

    Cowling tells me it is an 81 model.----Same as an 82 model as far as parts.-----Checked the fuse ?-----Motor will start with a dead battery using rope on flywheel.------Your location ?

    That has the optical ignition.-----Throwing parts at it gets expensive.----A manual would guide you on testing of the components to find the faulty part.
