    Using the 3 bolt ( grade 5 bolts ) puller is the only way to pull flywheel.-----Nor sure how you can have issues with that method.

    Some will argue.----If I was going to use a 50 year old motor as my primary fishing motor I would install a seal kit.-----If you are fixing it to run so you can sell it then no.------Most buyers think that if a motor barks and roars then there is nothing that needs attention !!

    The bushing in the magneto plate locates the plate.----That collar with the 4 holes holds the plate down.----The magneto plate must rotate easily.

    Coils have to be adjusted in a wee bit.----Yes there is a tool available to set the coils in the right spot.

    No such thing as fuel injection on those motors.-----Perhaps the Evinrude Ficht models were or the EVIZUKI 4 stroke models.

    If you are winding it up to 6000 RPM on a trailer at home you are wasting your time.----It will damage the motor .----It will run to 6000 RPM on 2 of 4 cylinders.

    Look closely , there has to be friction / drag on the spring to fully engage the pawl.

    There were issues with that plunger assembly on the 68 / 69 models.----Look for part that snaps into that socket.----That plunger assembly directs oil pressure in the valve body to move the shift piston / clutch dog.----If in Canada then ----evinrudeparts.ca------Might be able to help.

    They used plastic for over about 30 years.----Did someone grease the friction parts that engage the pawl ?-----Pulling gently to engage the pawl first?----Are you using the blue ones?
