    I was talking with my boss the other and we were talking about motors and max rpms. i said i didnt know what the max rpm for my motor was. he didnt think there was one and you could just have them at WOT throttle and not worry. Am i missing something here?

    battery ignition vs. alternator ignition

    is the difference between a battery ignition and an alternator ignition is the stator? obviously cars use alternators. so they would be alternator ignitions? and things like motorcycles and outboards that have a stator, are battery ignition?

    Tachometer...only 2 wires?

    Im replacing the factory tach and theres only two wires going to it. blackish/grey and green. my new tach has sending unit, ground, and ignition hookups (along with lights) do i need to run another wire?

    Is the prop always supposed to be able to spin?

    im sorry, this is probably a dumb question.... but is the prop always supposed to spin freely? when its not running, even if i move the throttle forward or reverse, im still able to spin the prop...normal? p.s. i just got the boat and i dont know much about them. ive never tried starting it...

    Testing Starter with jumper cables

    i need to know what size wiring i should get for: Wires to run from motor to gauges Inside the motor. they look like...16 ga? Same with battery wires. what are those? 8-10? is there a writeup showing the normal sizes used throughout the boat?

    too small of troller for my boat?

    i just got a minn kota endura 30 for free. I have a 75 Crestliner 15.5 foot boat. dry is about 850 lbs and probably another 200 for motor. do you think the trolling motor will be able to push/pull it? i know its not ideal, but it was free!:D

    where can you go to buy stuff for older boats. I have a 1975 Crestliner Muskie 550 and need a few things, like a new cover. I guess you could call it a bimini? but its a litle different than that. has flexible plastic windows that zip into it. (sorry no pics, they are on my other computer)...
