Suzuki DF115A throttle position sensor voltage

Confirmed it is not adjustable. Just got a picture from the customer. Thank you for the help.

    Honda BF150 Overheating

Interesting that you're still having overheating issues... what cleaner did you use, and what concentration of HCL? Was it squeaky clean looking when done? I guess the next step would be figuring out which specific sensor is tripping the overheat alarm and verifying that it's reporting...

    Honda BF150 Overheating

Just thinking out loud, I wonder if some important passage was missed during the manual cleaning? Since you're approaching the point of nothing to lose, have you tried flushing the block with a decalcifier? There are a few on the market such as Rydlyme, Barnacle Buster, etc.. The long and...

Descaling flush, motor that stops peeing

Just following up on this thread; after some more digging, my new thought is the chunks clogging the pee tube are originating at the internal anode under the exhaust cover plate. The water goes through there on the way into the motor and before the pee tube. When the ocean starts getting too...

    Honda BF150 Overheating

When you say cleaned the block and heads of corrosion, what method was used to clean them and how much did you get out?

Suzuki DF115A throttle position sensor voltage

Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to help someone else, I sell a tool (tpstool.com) and a customer is trying to fix this motor, I don't have the motor here. $320 for a test cord? yikes! If the TPS is not adjustable on that motor then thank you for that info, I will pass it along. That said...

new to me Tohatsu 9.8 problems: oily, smoky, finally runs but won't idle...

Agreed with the above, disassemble the carb and make it surgically clean. Use an ultrasonic cleaner if you have access to one, put air and cleaner through every hole, especially the tiny ones. Wear goggles.

Suzuki DF115A throttle position sensor voltage

Can anyone give me the TPS voltage or procedure for setting the TPS on a DF115A? I found the service manual online but oddly it doesn't seem to mention the TPS at all. It does mention the CTP (closed throttle position) sensor, but that's just an on/off switch, I'm looking for the actual...

O ring replacement not available from manufacturer

Also check your local Ace Hardware, ours has a whole pile of o-rings in the nut and bolt section. As mentioned above measure it with some calipers, and/or just bring it in and hold it up next to what they have.

Tohatsu 9.8 4-stroke dies after 20 min of warming up

Does it start easily after cooling off, temperature wise? Or do you have to wait some period of time regardless of how cool it gets? I would first check the vent on the fuel tank, make sure it's open. Next time it quits, open the gas cap and listen for air sucking in. Then see if it will...

why my 9.8 Tohatsu won't start with pull starter

Award for resurrecting the oldest thread in a long time! Since there is oil everywhere, and assuming this is a 4-stroke that you have, I can take a wild guess that maybe it was stored in the wrong position and the cylinder(s) is full of oil. Remove the spark plug(s), pull the rope a handful of...

Alarm goes off when trying to turn key on

To clarify: When we disconnect one side of the 2 conductor wire going to the oil tank the alarm goes off. Do you meant the alarm starts sounding, or the alarm goes silent? If you mean the alarm goes silent, then perhaps the alarm is related to the oil tank. I'm not personally familiar with...

Alarm goes off when trying to turn key on

If you want to give it a shot yourself, first start looking for connectors where wire bundles plug together. Take them apart Make sure they are clean and make sure they are put back together tightly. Some dielectric grease will help keep corrosion away. Follow the wires and see if you can find...

Honda BF50AX dies at higher throttle settings.

If the ball is hard then vacuum leaks are unlikely. Next time the problem happens, immediately crack open the bowl drain on each if the carburetors and verify that the bowls are nearly empty. Electrical and fuel problems can appear similar sometimes, empty bowls will confirm the carburetors...

Alarm goes off when trying to turn key on

Wiring problem, someone who understands wiring needs to sort it out. Maybe a pinched or bare wire, bad connection, etc..

OK to run outboard 1 cylinder not working ?

Bogging down and stalling is an entirely different problem. I had to run my 50 on two cylinders for a while when the float valve on one clogged up out in the ocean and I know what you mean that it doesn't seem to object, just down on power. If you keep in mind the other 2 cylinders are working...

Honda BF50AX dies at higher throttle settings.

How does the squeeze ball feel when the problem occurs? Also check the tank air vent and for air leaks in the fuel line.

    2003 Honda BF8 No Compression

When you welded the sprocket to the cam, were you carefully to line it up properly? Also if you have access to air (and ideally a leak down tester, but not critical now), put the piston at TDC compression stroke (all valves appear to be closed) and put the air in the spark plug hole. Use...

    honeymoon over...MFS6D

Fuel and electrical problems can sometimes behave similar. But the low hanging fruit is probably to take the carburetor apart and see what you find. I had a problem once where a tiny piece of rubber from a disintegrating fuel line got lodged in the float needle and the carburetor wouldn't fill...

    2017 Honda BF115 Beeping

Check (or have checked) the oil pressure sending unit. Put a pressure gauge on it and figure out if there actually is oil pressure when the buzzer comes on. Or just replace the sensor and see if that resolves it. If you really do have low oil pressure then you'll want to resolve that...
