    Almost done setting this up. Originally a control motor with oil injection and e start model number 25elrq. I noticed there is no neutral safety switch as that is handled in the remote control box. Right now it will start in gear so it's dangerous. I see on the parts diagram the neutral switch...

    Got the lower unit off. There was corrosion in the upper parts of the lower unit probably due to mice. Anyway it has a 4 bolt metal housing no gaskets. I did find some white rtv silicone looking stuff lightly applied to the underside of the plate. Impeller wasn't as bad as suspected but...

    I'll be dropping the lower unit soon but I bet the original pump is in there still. Paint isn't chipped at all on the lower unit mounting boots and 1/2 inch nut

    I haven't dropped the lower unit yet but going by parts diagrams there are no gaskets needed for the plate and pump housing? metal to metal for these? can someone confirm if that is accurate?
