Where do you guys recommend I buy under the cowl fuel line by the foot?

BAT 1, BAT 2, ALL Switch

Using a deep cycle may work, but may not be healthy over the long term as a "starter" battery.

BAT 1, BAT 2, ALL Switch

My original question isn't to run my boat on ALL. I was just asking for when I'm on BAT 1 deep cycle battery trolling around with my kicker motor with all my electronics on - mostly my plotter and fish finder. Then, we want to move, so I switch it to BAT 2 starter battery to fire up my 90hp...

    Sputtering Johnson V4 90hp - 1994

It's interesting one side is dark goopy and the other side is dry green corroded. I'm guessing it was sitting on that one side for some time.

Well, I feel better seeing the carbs need help. . Does these green colors mean water sat in the bowls for awhile? . The motor was laying on its side when I first got there, and then we hoisted it up and put it on stand to run it.

No, I will not be using Berrymans. It supposedly strips the finish.

I was planning on just blowing out every nook, cranny, orifice, jet, with spray carb cleaner. . Should I dip it in my Berryman's? Doesn't Berryman's harm the outside finish on the carburetors? . The only reason I ask is I saw a guy on YouTube (Brandon's Garage) do it. But his were pretty dirty.

Thanks racerone. I always post back. It's frustrating reading threads where someone asks for help and then disappears. Rude.

Here's why I think it's air/fuel related. It started right up and ran great when I first went and looked at it. Then when I got it home it ran nice, but had a slight sputter off an on. So I did a seafoam treatment and it then ran worse. I may be wrong. But a carburetor cleaning is likely due anyway.

I already started on cleaning the carburetors. I figured since it had been sitting, it's best to anyway. . I'll likely have things back together this weekend. . I'll check the things you suggested. . Cold Compression is around 120psi. 120, 119, 121, and 126 PSI

@racerone , do you think it's just the carbs need cleaning? Do you think I should check something else while I'm digging into it?

That would explain when I sprayed Carb cleaner. The carb cleaner probably went right down that hole.

Okay Okay, you're of an older generation. Milk Bottle? I remember the Milk Man and those cold glass bottles in that metal carrier and left on the porch. 😊

However, there is some discoloring on portions of the carb mating surface. . And why doesn't the gasket cover everything?

BAT 1, BAT 2, ALL Switch

I'll just test it out at home. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I'll hook up my fish finder and then switch between 1,2,ALL, and see if it stays on.

    Transom Reinforcement

I haven't gotten it out on the water yet, but I'm going from a 84 Suzuki 75hp 2-Stroke. The scupper holes at the bottom of the splashwell would ride right at the waterline with the Suzuki and my Yamaha 4-stroke 9.9 kicker. . I guess I'll see soon enough how much lower it sits in the water with...

    TACHOMETER ACCURACY

I know you know your tach may be off, but to check it you can do a loan a tool from AutoZone, or other local auto parts store, and see if they have a timing light with the included tach. Then at least you'd know how far off it is. . In my searching for a tach, I read older ones can be off. A...
