with a friend at helm, make sure interrupt switch is working. u could have damaged wire going back to coil. if my memory serves me correctly, an interrupt 12 vt wire goes back to coil. or, switch went bad????

At full throttle and it died...

I had crap in fuel lines/gas tank internal filters one time that gave me headaches. Pump sucked all the crap from sitting a year or so and it all damned up fuel lines.

    fuel pump frustration

Be advised: I experienced major issues with automotive pumps. I finally installed Sierra's MP and issues went away. My boats former owner had installed auto Fuel pumps and no oil pressure switch cut off and wiring, which was dangerous as well.

    Help with charging system?

For peace of mind, take alternator to REPUTABLE shop and test it under loads so that you can have a base line. However, I suspect corrosion somewhere in wiring or connectors.

What is being aligned, the engine, or the bearing, or both? And why?

Follow specific instructions for your OD. Some bearings are sealed and some have alignment marks for grease coming from grease fittings. sometime the outer ring get "bumped" when installing complete bearing and is not perfect to the inner. Insert alignment tool and if it doesn't go in, hit tool...

    New motor knocking???

lot cheaper than a 300 hp Yamie(s) ! But, if I had an extra 60 grand, I have a set installed to replace my strokers/bravos.

    fuel pump frustration

If you can access around inside transom by or near transom assembly, I'd drill a few holes. If black crud, dry rot, hollow or water comes, now is the time to replace transom. If my memory serves me correctly, 1995 was the year most boat builders went with synthetic transom materials. Pray...

    New motor knocking???

Unless mfg recommended it, pulling intake may have voided warranty???? I strongly suspect defective cam bearings or no bearings. It seems to me that mfg should have ran motor on some sort of stand before shipping. I installed a machine shop recondition head one time whose internal water passages...

    fuel pump frustration

Before you dump a ton of money, check the transom for ROT! Trust me!

    Shift cable bellows........zip tie ???

Please clarify??? "Fuel Line?" WWW is not specific as to these compared to the "black" ties, which are UV rated and do not contain metal. Photos appear them as the same. But, I am no expert. I've used the blacks ones for decades. But, even the black industrial grade ones eventually break down...

    New motor knocking???

If primer tool can't pump clean oil to lifters, something is blocked. Call mfg and ask for advice!

    New motor knocking???

I suspect that you have a faulty motor! Assuming manifolds and riders are in good or new shape.

    Advice needed on sterndrive replacement

These are excellent questions. It seems to me that prop rubber bushing would have failed before all else, but I am not an engineer. SS props are great until you hit something. In my opinion, I'd check ebay or craigslist for used freshwater upper and lower. People are unloading MCs for 4 stroke...

    New motor knocking???

Did you prime oil pump motor before cranking? 80 psi???? Oil should be pouring off rocker arms. Something seems blocked! If you purchased motor local, perhaps you should have them examine it.

    fuel pump frustration

I assume that you mean a mechanical fuel pump??? The only mechanical Chevy V8 fuel pumps that I am familiar with have an arm (pump handle) that is attached to pump and moved by cam shaft. Perhaps yours is a better design???? I have found that removing an exhaust manifold really frees up space...

    Engine replacement

You are just getting started. LOL! OB are the easiest to maintain but MCs and their parts are much cheaper, if you do the work yourself. If I had 60K lying around to waste on boat motors, I would have purchased 2 300 HP Yamie 4 strokers for my vintage Sea Ray build..

    Engine replacement

4.3s and 5.7 are common or were common. If salt water cooled motor and over 6 years old, I'd replace motor. But, first find where water is leaking in. I suspect failing risers or shutters? However, I experienced a rusted out head water passage. The "cancer" ruined a v8.

Water Pump Question - Alpha 1 w/Closed Cooling

I have 2 installed on Bravos. The store bought brackets are crap and rust. They mount using a dampener/guide to bottom of Crank pump and to stb front side of block. I had to fabricate special mounting (other than store bought bracket) to utilize and access my PS pump as well. My alternators are...
