    Starter Bendix stuck

ARCO is a pretty good brand from what I have heard.....you might try calling their customer service and tell them about your problem....may be defective? Is not a stator issue.....is your battery good....load tested?

    Starter Bendix stuck

What brand of starter did you get? And was the old starter the original factory one? A lot of the new starters available out there are cheap Chinese junk....a better option is to clean/rebuild the orig factory starter.....usually all they need is a good cleaning and maybe new brushes.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Sounds like you got 5/16 fuel hose then..... Did you see the posts above about the thermo switch? You could try grounding the wire coming off the switch to see if you have a working buzzer or not. If not, I would fix that.....is the only warning you will get for an over heat, unless you have a...

That G2 you said is close to you will work if you have 5/16 hose......and $3.73 CAD sounds cheap. You might try looking at your local auto parts store too.... The G12 is 5/16 also but a little bigger than the G2....couldn't find a Fram 1/4 inch model.....

It depends on what your fuel hose size is.... GKI GF61PL is for 5/16, GKI GF69PL is 3/8, GKI GF68PL is 1/4 Fram G2 is for 5/16, G3 is for 3/8......what size fuel hose do you have?

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

It says they are for small engines....lawn mowers, small tractors, generators, etc. Hard to tell by the pics but they look pretty small.....last thing you want is a filter that would cause a fuel restriction. You have a 120HP that sucks a lot of fuel.....I posted some pics of the GKI filter...

    Which towing position

All the way down....or take it off and lay it in bottom of boat or bed of truck....it's just a 9.9hp......

    Engine support while towing.

If you have to tow with engine tilted up, for clearance, then use a transom saver....without it, the engine will cause the transom to flex fore and aft.....and the higher the motor is the worse the flexing will be.

FACTORY PARTS..... a bit of a rant....

I have an older GMC truck.....always try to get GM or Acdelco parts.....the last thermostat I bought was an Acdelco.....opened the box and the t-stat had Motorad stamped on it......and made in China.....

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Can the OP ground the switch to test his overheat buzzer? Just realized that by grounding the thermo switch to a spark plug I am really only testing the warning buzzer function, not the switch itself.....

Nordin.....how do you test the type of thermo switch like the OP has......on my screw in type can ground it to a spark plug to test.....

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Years ago was cruising at high rpms when suddenly the engine quit....only then could I hear the buzzer.....way too late. After a PH rebuild, added a louder horn, temp gauge, and light on the dash....and test them regularly.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

I added a temp gauge.....but maybe should have gone with a water pressure gauge instead. Lots of opinions out there on that.... The linc n sync stickie by the late Frank A. says to set idle rpm to 700-750 in the water in forward gear....my manual says the same IIRC.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

It's a good thing you haven't heard the buzzer for real.....usually the damage is already done when you hear it..........is mounted on the cyl head near one of the spark plugs....held in by a retaining clip....
