1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Maybe after penetrating oil and heat, try putting double nuts on one end and try to twist it to break it loose....when beatin on it try not to mushroom or deform the ends of the shafts.....FYI

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Either side......if threaded on both ends..... If you could bang em out towards the port side, would only need to move them a couple inches to get the tilt cylinder out......

1987 Bayliner Capri 1950 OMC Cobra bowrider starter bolt broke off.

So I guess the old "two out of three aint bad" philosophy applies here? :ROFLMAO:

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Maybe use some penetrating oil and heat......salt water probably has them solidified in there..... may be able to find that fitting and a new line on ebay.....

What is different about newer primer bulbs?

Been using the Evinrude OEM bulbs for a while.....not sure who actually makes them but they are much higher quality and last longer than any others I have found.....whenever I replace one I cut the old one in half and look inside.....the other brands have a liner inside and most of the time it...

True...he can get the starter off w/o removing the engine.....problem is drilling the broken bolt and gettin it out, without buggering it up big time..... See post#6.....

There ya go.....you can also use them to get part numbers....with their parts diagrams.....then look on ebay for cheaper prices or for discontinued parts sold as NOS (new old stock). (y)

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

I didn't get this far with mine, lol. Jerry will probably see this early in the morning if you want to be sure and ask him.....but I don't see any other way to do it.

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Good job! The little black seal in that hexagon shaped part....use a pick to get it out....then put one of those red ones in there. Three more to go......and great idea using the heat gun.

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

Yes. Be careful because when the cap lets loose if will fly away.....put a towel over it or something to catch it. Member 59Hustler did this not too long ago. He was outside....when the cap came flying off he had a heck of a time finding the parts. Using the panel clip pliers, washers, and...

1990 Force 120HP trim and tilt not keeping motor up no leaks

https://forums.iboats.com/threads/some-hints-on-the-t-t-repairing-the-relief-valve.697972/ Look at this thread by Jerry....the valves have to come apart.....without damaging them. He used some panel clip pliers, washers, and heat to get them apart. It's all in that thread.....if the check...

Are Force OBs as good as others?

Have owned my Chrysler since new (1978). In that time have rebuilt the powerhead and LU.....so far have been able to find every part needed for repairs. You are on your own with these old motors.....most shops will not even look at one, but that is pretty much the case with any old 2-stroke motor.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Do you have access to the top of your fuel tank? The fitting the fuel hose connects to.....it usually screws out and the tube comes out with the fitting.

    Starter Bendix stuck

I missed that when I read it.....the shaft the bendix rides on needs to be lubed every so often.....with a light oil. You may find serious corrosion when taken apart. As for the new bendix binding, may be a shim problem like brodmann said......

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Does the primer bulb collapse when it is running? It shouldn't. Fuel pickup in the permanent tank could be partially obstructed.

1998 Force 120 Stalls out in Low Gear

Reread post#8.....do another compression test, spark test. Did you put in a new pump diaphragm? If the fuel hoses are old I would replace them, along with the primer bulb.....make sure the fuel vent on the permanent tank is not clogged up....insects and mud daubers can plug them up. Carbs...

    Starter Bendix stuck

I would keep the old factory starter.....is pretty simple to rebuild/clean....might need it later.
